Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the romantic drama Words and Pictures. The album features the film’s original music composed by Paul Grabowsky who previously collaborated with the movie’s director on Last Orders, It Runs in the Family and Empire Falls. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 27, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. Words and Pictures stars Clive Owen, Juliette Binoche, Keegan Connor Tracy, Amy Brenneman, Bruce Davison, Valerie Tian, Navid Negahban and Christian Scheider. The movie centers on a writer whose talent has dried up and his relationship with an artist struggling to paint as her body betrays her.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this holiday weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past directed by Bryan Singer and starring Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. The film’s music is composed by John Ottman (X2, The Usual Suspects, The Fantastic Four) who also serves as the film’s editor. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as two songs from the film. Click here for the full album details. The film’s original score is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Click, Bee Movie, Winter’s Tale, Veep). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by such artists as Terry Crews and Junior Mambazo, Fifth Harmony, The Elected, The Mowgli’s, Ball Park Music and Hot Water. Paul Grabowsky Scoring ‘Words and Pictures’
Paul Grabowsky has reteamed with director Fred Schepisi (The Russia House, Roxanne, Six Degrees of Separation) to score the director’s upcoming romantic comedy drama Words and Pictures. The film starring Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche takes place at an insular New England prep school and follows an English teacher who challenges the school’s art teacher to a “war” between words and pictures and in the process, sparks an unlikely romance. Gerald DiPego (Phenomenon, The Forgotten, Message in a Bottle) has written the screenplay and is also producing the Latitude Productions and Lascaux Films production with Schepisi and Curtis Burch. Grabowsky and Schepisi have previously collaborated on such films as Last Orders, It Runs in the Family, Empire Falls and The Eye of the Storm. Words and Pictures is set to premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Paul Grabowsky and Branford Marsalis Collaborating on ‘The Eye of the Storm’
Paul Grabowsky recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama The Eye of the Storm. The film is set in a Sydney suburb, where two nurses, a housekeeper and a solicitor attend to Elizabeth Hunter as her expatriate son and daughter convene at her deathbed. The movie stars Charlotte Rampling, Geoffrey Rush, Dustin Clare, Judy Davis and is directed by Fred Schepisi. The director worked with Grabowsky on his last three projects Last Orders, It Runs in the Family and Empire Falls and is best known in the film music community for his collaborations with Jerry Goldsmith on such movies as The Russia House, Mr. Baseball, I.Q. and Fierce Creatures. The Eye of the Storm marks the director’s first Australian production in over 20 years.
