David Hirschfelder is attached to score the upcoming romantic drama The Olive Sisters. The film is directed by Fred Schepisi (Roxanne, The Russia House, Six Degrees of Separation) and stars Simon Baker, Leslie Mann, Anthony LaPaglia, Jacki Weaver, Melissa George, Gia Carides, Josh Lucas and Alexandra Schepisi. The movie is based on Amanda Hampson’s bestselling novel of the same title and follows a successful New York businesswoman whose life falls apart and is forced to move to the small rural community of Duffy’s Creek, Australia and the run-down olive grove she has inherited from her grandparents.

Paul Grabowsky Scoring ‘Words and Pictures’
Paul Grabowsky has reteamed with director Fred Schepisi (The Russia House, Roxanne, Six Degrees of Separation) to score the director’s upcoming romantic comedy drama Words and Pictures. The film starring Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche takes place at an insular New England prep school and follows an English teacher who challenges the school’s art teacher to a “war” between words and pictures and in the process, sparks an unlikely romance. Gerald DiPego (Phenomenon, The Forgotten, Message in a Bottle) has written the screenplay and is also producing the Latitude Productions and Lascaux Films production with Schepisi and Curtis Burch. Grabowsky and Schepisi have previously collaborated on such films as Last Orders, It Runs in the Family, Empire Falls and The Eye of the Storm. Words and Pictures is set to premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Paul Grabowsky and Branford Marsalis Collaborating on ‘The Eye of the Storm’
Paul Grabowsky recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama The Eye of the Storm. The film is set in a Sydney suburb, where two nurses, a housekeeper and a solicitor attend to Elizabeth Hunter as her expatriate son and daughter convene at her deathbed. The movie stars Charlotte Rampling, Geoffrey Rush, Dustin Clare, Judy Davis and is directed by Fred Schepisi. The director worked with Grabowsky on his last three projects Last Orders, It Runs in the Family and Empire Falls and is best known in the film music community for his collaborations with Jerry Goldsmith on such movies as The Russia House, Mr. Baseball, I.Q. and Fierce Creatures. The Eye of the Storm marks the director’s first Australian production in over 20 years.
