Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British series All Creatures Great and Small written by Ben Vanstone based on the classic BBC programme, directed by Brian Percival and starring Nicholas Ralph, Samuel West, Anna Madeley, Callum Woodhouse and Rachel Shenton The show’s original music is composed by Alexandra Harwood (The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, The Escape, Growing Up Wild). All3Media & Playground Television have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score when the drama premiered in the UK last year. Also premiering today is the HBO documentary Tiger directed by Matthew Heineman & Matthew Hamachek about the rise, fall, and epic comeback of global icon Tiger Woods. H. Scott Salinas (The Banker, The Ballad of Lefty Brown, Warrior, Birth of the Dragon, Sea of Shadows) has composed the original music for the 2-parter. ‘The Orville’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Announced

La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Fox/Hulu original series The Orville. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2), Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) and Andrew Cottee. Also included is Bruce Broughton’s main titles theme. The 2-CD set will be released on January 19, 2021 and is now available to order on Amazon or La-La Land’s official website. A digital version is set to come out on January 22 (click here to stream/download). The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composers’ music from the first season last year. The Orville is created by Seth MacFarlane and stars Macfarlane himself, Adrianne Palicki, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J. Lee, Mark Jackson, Jessica Szohr and Penny Johnson Jerald.

Soundtrack Album for FX on Hulu Series ‘A Teacher’ to Be Released

Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the FX on Hulu limited series A Teacher. The album features the show’s original score composed by Keegan DeWitt (Hearts Beat Loud, Gemini, Divorce, I’ll See You in My Dreams, The Hero, All the Bright Places, Her Smell). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 18 and will be available to stream/download here. A Teacher is created by Hannah Fidell based on her feature of the same title and stars Kate Mara, Nick Robinson, Ashley Zukerman, Shane Harper, Marielle Scott, Dylan Schmid, Adam David Thompson and Jana Peck. The drama, which explores the complexities and consequences of a predatory teacher/student relationship, premiered in November on FX on Hulu.

Premiering today is the Netflix original film Christmas on the Square directed by Debbie Allen and starring Dolly Parton, Christine Baranski, Treat Williams, Jeanine Mason, Josh Segarra, Mary Lane Haskell and Jenifer Lewis. The film’s original music is composed by Dolly Parton (who wrote 14 original songs for the project) and conducted by Larry Blank. The holiday musical, which follows a small town “Scrooge” as she’s visited by a rhinestone-bedazzled angel who guides her on a musical journey of redemption, is now available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

Premiering tomorrow, November 23, is the FX and BBC limited series Black Narcissus developed by Amanda Coe based on the novel of the same title by Rumer Godden and starring Gemma Arterton, Alessandro Nivola, Diana Rigg, Aisling Franciosi, Jim Broadbent, Rosie Cavaliero, Patsy Ferran, Karen Bryson, Nila Aalia, Kulvinder Ghir, Chaneil Kular, Gina McKee, Soumil Malla, Dipika Kunwar,and Gianni Gonsalves. The show’s original music is composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X, The Crying Game, Poldark, The Hustle). Premiering tonight is the Showtime docu-series The Reagans directed and executive produced by Matt Tyrnauer about the rise and reign of America’s ultimate power couple, Ronald & Nancy Reagan. The show’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, His Dark Materials, The Crown, Home, Bad Boys for Life) who previously scored Tyrnauer’s features Studio 54 and Where’s My Roy Cohn?. Premiering on Wednesday, November 18, is the documentary Crazy, Not Insane directed and produced by Alex Gibney about Dr. Dorothy Otnow Lewis, a psychiatrist who has dedicated her career to studying murderers and seeking answers as to why people kill. Will Bates (Unbelievable, Away, I Origins, The Magicians, The Looming Tower, Nightflyers) who has previously scored numerous of Gibney’s documentaries has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Festival and also screened at the 2020 Venice Film Festival will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.

Alex Geringas Scoring Peacock’s & Hulu’s ‘TrollsTopia’

Alex Geringas is the composer of DreamWorks Animation’s new Peacock and Hulu original series TrollsTopia. The show is inspired by the studio’s Trolls feature films (scored by Christophe Beck & Theodore Shapiro) and features the voices of Skylar Astin, Amanda Leighton, David Flynn, Ron Funches, Kenan Thompson, Megan Hilty, Jeanine Mason, Kat Graham and Kevin Michael Richardson. The series follows Poppy as she bottles up her endless positivity and invites delegates from every Troll tribe in the forest to live together in harmony in a grand experiment she calls TrollsTopia. Matthew Beans serves as executive producer.

Soundtrack Album for Hulu’s ‘No Man’s Land’ Released

Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Hulu original series No Man’s Land. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Rutger Hoedemaekers (Trapped, The Last Berliner). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. No Man’s Land is created Maria Feldman, Eitan Mansuri, Amit Cohen & Ron Leshem and stars Félix Moati, Mélanie Thierry, Souheila Yacoub, Joe Ben Ayed, James Floyd, Dean Ridge and James Purefoy. The 8-part drama directed by Oded Ruskin is set against the backdrop of the Syrian War and follows a young French man who, while unraveling the mystery of his estranged, presumed to be dead sister, ends up joining forces with a unit of Kurdish female fighters and travels with them in ISIS occupied territory.

John Piscitello (Becoming Bond, No Place on Earth, The All-Americans, Mike Wallace Is Here, Memory Games) has released a soundtrack album for the Hulu original documentary Too Funny to Fail. The album, which features the composer’s original music from the film, is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Too Funny to Fail directed and produced by Josh Greenbaum (The Short Game) explores the creation of The Dana Carvey Show and asks the question why a show with a writer’s room and cast including then unknowns Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Robert Smigel would flop so spectacularly.

‘Happiest Season’ Soundtrack Album Details

Warner Records will release a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy Happiest Season. The album music from and inspired by the movie, including Tegan & Sara’s original song Make You Mine This Season (to be released as a digital single tomorrow), new songs by Anne-Marie, Carlie Hanson, Bebe Rexha, Shea Diamond, Brandy Clark, as well as Sia’s Candy Cane Lane & more. The full soundtrack will be released on November 6 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. A CD version will be coming out on December 18 and is available to order here. Happiest Season is co-written and directed by Clea DuVall and stars Kristen Stewart, Mackenzie Davis, Alison Brie, Daniel Levy, Aubrey Plaza, Victor Garber and Mary Steenburgen. The movie revolves around a woman who is planning to propose to her girlfriend while at her family’s annual Christmas party, when she discovers her partner hasn’t yet come out to her conservative parents.

Premiering on Thursday, October 22 is the fantasy adventure comedy The Witches directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth, Chris Rock and Jahzir Kadeen Bruno. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump. Marvel’s The Avengers, Cast Away, Who Framed Roger Rabbit). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be announced this coming week. Check out our previous article to learn more about the Warner Bros. Pictures production, which was originally set to open in theaters (and is still being released theatrically in several foreign markets next week) and will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO Max.

Premiering on Friday, October 23 (following a very limited theatrical release on October 9 we missed in our film music roundup that week) is the Netflix animated film Over the Moon directed by Glen Keane and starring Cathy Ang, Phillipa Soo, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Margaret Cho, Kimiko Glenn, Robert G. Chiu, Ruthie Ann Miles, Artt Butler and Sandra Oh. Steven Price (Gravity, Our Planet, Suicide Squad) has composed the film’s original score and Christopher Curtis, Marjorie Duffield & Helen Park have written the original songs.
