22D Music has released a soundtrack album for the BBC drama Virdee. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by James Everingham (Chief of War, Apollo: Missions to the Moon, The Real Right Stuff)) for Bleeding Fingers Music. Also included is the main theme written by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Dune, Gladiator, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Inception) & Everingham feat. Shashwat Sachdev(Uri: The Surgical Strike, Selection Day). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. ‘Chief of War’ Soundtrack Album Details
Fifth Season Music & Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ limited series Chief of War. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Gladiator, Dune, Interstellar) & James Everingham (Apollo: Missions to the Moon, The Real Right Stuff) for Bleeding Fingers Music. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 1 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composers’ main title track below. Chief of War is created by Jason Momoa & Thomas Pa‘a Sibbett and stars Momoa himself, Luciane Buchanan, Temuera Morrison, Kaina Makua, Cliff Curtis, Te Ao o Hinepehinga, Brandon Finn, Moses Goods, Siua Ikale‘o, Mainei Kinimaka, James Udom,Te Kohe Tuhaka and Benjamin Hoetjes. The 9-part historical drama based on true events is set amidst the backdrop of the islands of Hawai‘i and tells the story of warrior Ka‘iana as he tries to unify the islands before Western colonization in the late 18th century.

Premiering tomorrow, July 28, is the Hulu original series The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball created by Ben Bocquelet and starring Alkaio Thiele, Hero Hunter, Kinza Syed Khan, Teresa Gallagher and Dan Russell. Xav Clarke (Wolfboy and the Everything Factory, Elliott from Earth, The Heroic Quest of the Valiant Prince Ivandoe) is composing the show’s original music. The sequel to The Amazing World of Gumball produced by Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe follows Gumball Watterson, his brother Darwin, his sister Anais, and the other quirky residents of Elmore on new adventures and will be available to stream in the U.S. exclusively on Hulu.
Premiering in the U.S. on Tuesday, July 29, is the British TV series Dope Girls developed by Polly Stenham & Alex Warren and starring Julianne Nicholson, Eilidh Fisher, Eliza Scanlen, Umi Myers, Geraldine James, Rory Fleck Bryne, Dustin Demri-Burns, Sebastian Croft, Michael Duke, Ian Bonar, Laura Checkley, Harry Cadby, Priya Kansara, Will Keen, Nabhaan Rizwan and Jordan Kouame. The show’s original music is composed by the experimental vocalist & electronic artist collective NYX. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the artists’ score earlier this year when the drama premiered in the UK on BBC One. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the family fantasy adventure IF written and directed by John Krasinski and starring Ryan Reynolds, Cailey Fleming, Krasinski himself, Steve Carell, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Louis Gossett Jr. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Lost, Up, Ratatouille, Star Trek, Spider-Man: Far from Home, Jurassic World, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Incredibles). Milan Records/Sony Classical have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Nick Cave & Warren Ellis (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Dahmer: Monster – The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Hell or High Water, The Road, Blonde, The Proposition) have composed the film’s original score. Hans Zimmer & James Everingham (feat. Shashwat Sachdev) to Compose Title Theme & Score for BBC’s ‘Virdee’
BBC announced today that Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Inception, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Interstellar) & James Everingham (Apollo: Missions to the Moon, The Real Right Stuff) feat. Shashwat Sachdev (Uri: The Surgical Strike, Selection Day) will compose the title theme and original score for the upcoming BBC series Virdee for Bleeding Fingers Music. Trainees from Screen Academy Bradford will also be joining Bleeding Fingers to get a hands-on experience of composing for screen and to assist with the composing of the series score. The show is created by AA Dhand based on his own novels and stars Staz Nair, Aysha Kala, Nina Singh, Kulvinder Ghir, Vikash Bhai and Sudha Bhuchar. The 6-part crime thriller directed by Mark Tonderai (Spell, House at the End of the Street) follows a cop disowned by his Sikh family for marrying a Muslim who must hunt down a serial killer targeting the Asian community.

‘Frozen Planet II’ Soundtrack Album Details
Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC natural history series Frozen Planet II. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (Dune, The Lion King, Gladiator, Inception, The Dark Knight), Adam Lukas (Primates) & James Everingham (Apollo: Missions to the Moon, The Real Right Stuff) for Bleeding Fingers Music feat. Norwegian singer/songwriter AURORA. The opening titles music is written by Zimmer and Anže Rozman (Prehistoric Planet, The Planets). Russell Emanuel serves as the score producer and Greg Rappaport & Marsha Bowe are the score supervisors. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A 2-CD version will be coming out on October 21.

Premiering tonight is the Showtime docu-series The Reagans directed and executive produced by Matt Tyrnauer about the rise and reign of America’s ultimate power couple, Ronald & Nancy Reagan. The show’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, His Dark Materials, The Crown, Home, Bad Boys for Life) who previously scored Tyrnauer’s features Studio 54 and Where’s My Roy Cohn?. Premiering on Wednesday, November 18, is the documentary Crazy, Not Insane directed and produced by Alex Gibney about Dr. Dorothy Otnow Lewis, a psychiatrist who has dedicated her career to studying murderers and seeking answers as to why people kill. Will Bates (Unbelievable, Away, I Origins, The Magicians, The Looming Tower, Nightflyers) who has previously scored numerous of Gibney’s documentaries has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Festival and also screened at the 2020 Venice Film Festival will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.
National Geographic’s ‘The Real Right Stuff’ to Feature Original Score by James Everingham
Disney+ announced this week that National Geographic’s upcoming documentary The Real Right Stuff will feature an original score composed by James Everingham (Heroes, Grand Prix Driver) for Bleeding Fingers Music and produced by Hans Zimmer & Russell Emanuel. The composer’s orchestral score was recorded remotely by a socially distant 44-piece orchestra this past May. The movie is directed by Tom Jennings (Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes) and tells the true story of the nation’s first astronauts, the original Mercury 7. Jennings is also executive producing the 1895 Films production with Simon Raikes (Drain the Oceans).
