Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British/Irish series Miss Scarlet & The Duke created by Rachael New, directed by Declan O’Dwyer and starring Kate Phillips, Stuart Martin, Ansu Kabia, Andrew Gower and Kevin Doyle. The show’s original music is composed by Tomas Daniels. The 6-part drama, which centers on the first-ever female detective in Victorian London who joins forces with a Scotland Yard Inspector to solve crime mysteries, premiered in the UK last year on Alibi and is making its U.S. debut as part of PBS Masterpiece series. Premiering on Thursday, January 21, is the CW drama Walker created by Anna Fricke based on the 90s series Walker, Texas Ranger and starring Jared Padalecki, Lindsey Morgan, Keegan Allen, Violet Brinson, Kale Culley, Molly Hagen, Coby Bell, Jeff Pierr and Mitch Pileggi. Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Monk, Pollock, Rome, Carnivale, Ugly Betty, Blackfish) is composing the show’s original music. Premiering on Friday, January 22, is the Netflix original series Fate: The Winx Saga developed by Brian Young based on the Italian cartoon Winx Club from Iginio Straffi and starring Abigail Cowen, Hannah Van Der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Eliot Salt, Elisha Applebaum, Danny Griffin, Sadie Soverall, Freddie Thorp, Rob James-Collier, Eve Best and Lesley Sharp. The show’s original music is composed by Anne Nikitin (American Animals, Mrs. Wilson, Lost Girls, This Beautiful Fantastic, Calibre). Also premiering on Friday in the U.S. is the British mini-series The Sister written by Neil Cross, directed by Niall MacCormick and starring Russell Tovey, Bertie Carvel, Amrita Acharia, Nina Toussaint-White, Paul Bazely and Ewan Bailey. Ruth Barrett (Bodyguard, Harry Brown, Sanditon, Victoria, Collateral) has composed the show’s original music. The 4-part thriller, which revolves around a man whose life falls apart when an unwelcome face from the past turns up on his doorstep with shocking news, triggering a series of catastrophic decisions, premiered in the UK this past fall on ITV and is making its U.S. debut on Hulu.

Missing from last week’s TV music roundup was the new ABC comedy Call Your Mother created by Kari Lizer and starring Kyra Sedgwick, Rachel Sennott, Joey Bragg, Austin Crute, Emma Caymares and Patrick Brammall.
