Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror movie Weapons written and directed by Zach Cregger and starring Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Austin Abrams, Alden Ehrenreich, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong and Amy Madigan. The film’s original music is composed by Ryan Holladay & Hays Holladay and Cregger himself. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the artists’ score last Friday. Also opening wide is the comedy sequel Freakier Friday directed by Nisha Ganatra and starring Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Rosalind Chao, Vanessa Bayer, Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon. Amie Doherty (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Spirit Untamed, Happiest Season, Blue Eye Samurai, Undone, Please Don’t Destroy, The High Note) has composed the film’s original score. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring four tracks from the composer’s score, as well as songs by Lohan, Pink Slip, The Beaches and Chantry Johnson last Friday. ‘Freakier Friday’ Soundtrack Album Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for Disney’s comedy sequel Freakier Friday have been revealed. The album features the new cover of Pink Slip’s Take Me Away (previously released as a digital single earlier this month), as well as songs by cast members Lindsday Lohan, Julia Butters & Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, as well as The Beaches and Chantry Johnson. Also included are four tracks from the film’s original score composed by Amie Doherty (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Happiest Season, Spirit Untamed, Undone, The High Note, Please Don’t Destroy). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 1 by Hollywood Records and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra (Late Night, Cake) and stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Rosalind Chao, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Vanessa Bayer, Chad Michael Murray and Mark Harmon. The sequel to 2003’s hit movie Freaky Friday (scored by Rolfe Kent) takes place years after Tess & Anna endured an identity crisis as they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge and discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain. The album features the film’s original music composed by Amie Doherty (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Undone, Blue Eye Samurai, Spirit Untamed, Happiest Season, The High Note). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 17 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The movie produced by Judd Apatow follows three childhood friends turned deadbeat co-worker as they fend off hairless bears, desperate park rangers and a hypocritical cult leader in the hopes of finding a priceless treasure.

Making its linear debut tonight is the Showtime original series The Curse created by Benny Safdie & Nathan Fielder and starring Emma Stone, Fielder and Safdie. The show’s original music is composed John Medeski and executive produced by Daniel Lopatin (Uncut Gems, Good Time). Milan Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the score this coming Friday, November 17. Check out our soundtrack announcment for the full album details, to listen to a first track and to learn more about the project. The comedy premiered this past Friday on Paramount+ with Showtime and will air every Sunday night on Showtime.

Also premiering today is the MGM+ original series Beacon 23 created by Zak Penn based on Hugh Howey’s best-selling book and starring Lean Headey and Stephan James. William Marriott has composed the show’s original score. Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Westworld, Iron Man, House of the Dragon, Eternals) has contributed the theme and also serves as the project’s music producer. Making its linear premiere tonight is the Showtime limited series Fellow Travelers created by Ron Nyswaner based on the novel by Thomas Mallon and starring Matt Bomer, Jonathan Bailey, Allison Williams, Jelani Alladin and Noah J. Ricketts. The show’s original music is composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Dynasty, Boston Strangler). The 8-part drama, which chronicles the volatile romance of two very different men who meet in McCarthy-era Washington, premiered this Friday on Paramount+ with Showtime and will air every Sunday night on Showtime.

Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, October 30, is the British limited series Mayflies written by Andrea Gibb based on Andrew O’Hagan’s bestselling novel of the same title and starring Martin Compston, Tony Curran, Ashley Jensen, Rian Gordon, Tracy Ifeachor and Tom Glynn-Carney. Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The Wheel of Time, His Dark Materials, Black Widow) & Joseph Stevenson have composed the show’s original music. The 2-parter, which centers on the friendship between two Scottish men, premiered in the UK last year on BBC One and is making its domestic debut on Acorn TV.

Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s original animated series Blue Eye Samurai. Also included is cover version of Metallica’s For Whom the Bell Tolls performed by Emi Meyer. Blue Eye Samurai is created by Amber Noizumi & Michael Green and features the voices of Maya Erskine, Brenda Song, Kenneth Branagh, Masi Oka, George Takei, Darren Barnet, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Randall Park. The animated action drama is set in Edo-period Japan and tells the story of a young warrior who – driven by a dream of revenge against those who made her an outcast – cuts a bloody path toward her destiny.
