Walter Murphy (Family Guy, Wiseguy, American Dad, The Late Bloomer, Raw Force) is returning to score the new Peacock original comedy event series Ted. The show is created by Seth MacFarlane (The Orville, A Million Ways to Die in the West) and stars MacFarlane himself (as the voice of Ted), Max Burkholder, Scott Grimes, Alanna Ubach and Giorgia Whigham. The prequel to the Murphy-scored 2012 & 2015 Ted features is set in 1993 and depicts of the early life of the titular character who is now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, John Bennett and his family.

Kevin Kaska Joins ‘The Orville’ Composer Team
Kevin Kaska has recently scored his first episode of the sci-fi series The Orville. The orchestrator, arrangers composer and conductor joins John Debney, Joel McNeely and Andrew Cottee who all scored multiple episodes of the show, as well as Bruce Broughton who composed the main title theme and the music for the pilot episode. The first recording sessions of the music for the show’s third season took place last week on the Newman Scoring Stage on the Fox lot in Los Angeles (visit Seth MacFarlane’s Instagram page for a video from the scoring sessions of Kaska’s first episode).
‘The Orville’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Fox/Hulu original series The Orville. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2), Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) and Andrew Cottee. Also included is Bruce Broughton’s main titles theme. The 2-CD set will be released on January 19, 2021 and is now available to order on Amazon or La-La Land’s official website. A digital version is set to come out on January 22 (click here to stream/download). The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composers’ music from the first season last year. The 2-CD set will be released in early 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

John Debney has joined the music team of Fox’s upcoming comedy drama The Orville and will score multiple episodes of the show created by Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy) who also stars in the series alongside Adrianne Palicki, Mark Jackson, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Halston Sage and Penny Johnson. Songs from Fox’s ‘Family Guy’ to Be Released
Beginning today, 20th Century Fox TV Records is releasing a batch of digital song singles from the Fox hit television series Family Guy. Starting with the Family Guy Main Title, composed by Walter Murphy, Seth MacFarlane and David Zuckerman, songs will be released every other week during the course of the season. Songs coming out this fall include a few of the most requested ones, including A Bag of Weed, The FCC Song, and the Emmy-nominated songs You’ve Got a Lot to See and Down’s Syndrome Girl. The first track is now available to download on iTunes and will also be available from other digital retailers soon.
‘Family Guy’ Score Album Announced
La-La Land Records will release the world premiere score soundtrack album for the Fox animated hit series Family Guy. The album features selections from the original music from the show’s first four seasons composed by Walter Murphy (Ted, Ted 2, American Dad!) and Ron Jones (American Dad!, Duck Tales, Star Trek: The Next Generation). Family Guy: Movement I is limited to 5000 copies and will be available to order on June 21 on the label’s official website. The CD is also available to order on Amazon. Family Guy is created by Seth MacFarlane and features the voices of MacFarlane himself, as well as Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Lacey Chabert, Mila Kunis, Mike Henry and Patrick Warburton.
Mark Mothersbaugh Scoring Fox’s ‘Bordertown’
Mark Mothersbaugh is scoring the new Fox animated series Bordertown. The show is created by Mark Hentemann (Family Guy) and features the voices of Hank Azaria, Alex Borstein, Missi Pyle, Judah Friedlander and Nicholas Gonzalez. The series centers on two families living in a Southwest desert town on the United States-Mexico border, one headed by a border patrol agent, the other by an industrious Mexican immigrant. Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad, Ted, A Million Ways to Die in the West) is executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Hentemann.
‘Ted 2’ Soundtrack Released
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the comedy sequel Ted 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Walter Murphy (Family Guy, American Dad) who previously scored the first installment, including the original song Mean Ol’ Moon performed by Amanda Seyfriend and Norah Jones. Also included are tracks by Ray Charles, Alfred Newman, Bone Symphony and John Wilson, Maida Vale Singers & Curtis Stigers. The soundtrack is now available on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. Ted 2 is directed by Seth MacFarlane and stars Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Morgan Freeman, Jessica Barth and Giovanni Ribisi.
