Peermusic France will release a new soundtrack album for the French 2004 musical drama The Chorus (Les Choristes) co-written and directed by Christophe Barratier and starring Gérard Jugnot, François Berléand, Kad Merad and Jean-Baptiste Maunier. The album features the newly remastered score from the film composed by Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Crimson Rivers, Winged Migration, Wolfwalkers, Wendell & Wild, Gemma Bovery) and the choir music performed by Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc, including two new tracks: an English language version of the Academy Award-nominated song Vois sur ton chemin (Children of Oblivion), as well as an instrumental version of In Memoriam (listen to the track after the jump). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 27 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out the track list. A CD and vinyl edition is also in the works.

Bruno Coulais to Score Anne Fontaine’s ‘Boléro’
Composer Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Chorus, The Crimson Rivers, Wendell & Wild, Winged Migration) is set to reteam with director Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel, Adore) on the upcoming French drama Boléro. The film stars Raphael Personnaz as in the lead role of Maurice Ravel, as well as Jeanne Balibar, Doria Tillier, Emmanuelle Devos and Vincent Perez. The movie is set in the Roaring 1920s and follows Russian dancer/choreographer Ida Rubinstein as she selects Ravel to compose the music for her next ballet.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi horror thriller Infinity Pool written and directed by Brandon Cronenberg and starring Alexander Skarsgård, Mia Goth and Cleopatra Coleman. The film’s original music is composed by Tim Hecker (The North Water, Luzifer, The Free World). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the psychological horror thriller Fear co-written and directed by Deon Taylor and starring Joseph Sikora, Andrew Bachelor, Ruby Modine, Annie Ilonzeh, Iddo Goldberg, Terrence Jenkins, Tip “T.I.” Harris and Jessica Allain. Geoff Zanelli (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Disturbia, Christopher Robin) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. ‘Wendell & Wild’ Soundtrack Album Details
Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s original animated feature Wendell & Wild. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Bruno Coulais (Coraline, Wolfwalkers, The Chorus, The Crimson Rivers, Winged Migration, The Secret of Kells). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 28 and will be available to stream/download here. Wendell & Wild is co-written and directed by Henry Selick and features the voices of Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Angela Bassett, Lyric Ross, Ving Rhames, Gabrielle Dennis, Tamara Smart, Gary Gatewood, Natalie Martinez, James Hong, Igal Naor, Tantoo Cardinal, David Harewood and Maxine Peake. The movie tells the story of two scheming demons who strike a deal with a punk rock-loving teen so they can leave the Underworld and live out their dreams in the Land of the Living.

‘Maigret’ Soundtrack Album Released
Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the French crime drama Maigret. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Bruno Coulais (The Chorus, Coraline, Wolfwalkers, The Crimson Rivers, The Secret of Kells, Winged Migration). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Maigret is co-written and directed by Patrice Leconte and stars Gerard Depardieu, Melanie Bernier and Jade Labeste. The movie is based on Georges Simenon’s classic novel and follows the titular detective as he investigates the death of a young girl in 1953 and crosses paths with a young offender who reminds him of the dead girl.

The movie follows a Parisian couple who decide to sell an unsanitary basement in their building, when seemingly ordinary man shows up to buy it, makes it his permanent residence and becomes a threat to the family.

The movie, which follows two lifelong friends who are out for a bike ride through the mountains in the South of France when one of them confesses that he slept with the other’s fiancé premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released stateside by Sony Pictures Classics.
