The full details of the soundtrack album for the biographical drama Respect have been announced. The album features the Aretha Franklin songs from the movie performed by lead actress Jennifer Hudson. Also included is the original song Here I Am (Singing My Way Home) co-written and performed by Hudson (already available to stream/download now). The soundtrack will be coming out digitally and physically (on CD and vinyl) on August 13 by Epic Records and is now available for pre-order in all formats on Amazon. A second track from the album, (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman, has recently been released and can be checked out after the jump. Respect is directed by Liesl Tommy and stars Hudson, Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Marc Maron, Audra McDonald, Tituss Burgess, Hailey Kilgore, Skye Dakota Turner, Saycon Sengbloh, Heather Headley, Tate Donovan and Mary J. Blige. The movie follows the rise of Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom. The drama will be released in theaters nationwide on August 13 by MGM Studios/United Artists.
