Warner Classics has released a soundtrack album for the French biographical drama Boléro (Boléro – Le mystère Ravel). The album features the music from the film written by Maurice Ravel, as well as pieces by Frédéric Chopin and Alexandre Tharaud. Bruno Coulais to Score Anne Fontaine’s ‘Boléro’
Composer Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Chorus, The Crimson Rivers, Wendell & Wild, Winged Migration) is set to reteam with director Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel, Adore) on the upcoming French drama Boléro. Bruno Coulais to Score Jean-Paul Salome’s ‘La Daronne’
Bruno Coulais is attached to score the upcoming French crime comedy La Daronne. The film is directed by Jean-Paul Salome (Adventures of Arsene Lupin) and stars Isabelle Huppert. The movie is based on Hannelore Cayre’s novel of the same title and follows a French-Arabic translator working for the anti-drug squad in Paris. Salome and Cayre co-wrote the screenplay. Kristina Larsen (Farewell, My Queen, Diary of a Chambermaid) is producing the project for Les Films du Lendemain, alongside Jean-Baptiste Dupont (Point Blank, Me, Myself and Mum) for La Boetie Films.
‘The Innocents’ (‘Agnus Dei’) Soundtrack Released
Bayard Musique has released a soundtrack album for the French/Polish drama The Innocents (Agnus Dei). The album features the film’s original music composed by Grégoire Hetzel (Incendies, The Blue Room, The Tree). Also included is other music featured in the movie, such as Max Richter’s On the Nature of Daylight & more. The Innocents is directed by Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel, Adore) and stars Lou de Laâge Agata Kulesza, Agata Buzek, Vincent Macaigne, Joanna Kulig and Katarzyna Dabrowska. The movie is set in 1945 Poland and follows a young French doctor who is on a mission to help World War II survivors and becomes the only hope to several pregnant nuns who are unable to reconcile their faith with their pregnancies in hiding.
‘Gemma Bovery’ Soundtrack Announced
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Gemma Bovery. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Chorus, The Crimson Rivers). Also included are tracks by Alice Lewis, Rubin Steiner and Alain Chamfort. The soundtrack will be released on September 8, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The movie is based on Flaubert’s Madame Bovary and follows a passionate young Englishwoman whose dull married life in a provincial Norman town steers her towards adultery. The drama will have its world premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival and will be released in France on September 10 with other European markets to follow.
Bruno Coulais Scoring Anne Fontaine’s ‘Gemma Bovery’
Bruno Coulais is the composer of the upcoming drama Gemma Bovery. The film is directed by Anne Fontaine and stars Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng, Mel Raido and Fabrice Luchini. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Posy Simmonds, which is loosely based on Gustave Flabert’s Madame Bovary and chronicles the last last few months in the life of the English expatriate living in Normandy. Philippe Carcassonne (Coco Before Chanel, The Illusionist) and Faye Ward are producing the Gaumont production. Fontaine has previously collaborated with Coulais on the 2011 romantic comedy My Worst Nightmare. She has also worked together witch such composers as Alexandre Desplat (Coco Before Chanel and Christopher Gordon (Two Mothers).
‘Adore’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has revealed the details of the soundtrack album for the drama Adore. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Christopher Gordon (Master and Commander, Daybreakers). Also included is additional music by Antony Partos (Animal Kingdom). Ben Mendelsohn, Xavier Samuel, James Frecheville, Gary Sweet and Sophie Lowe are also starring. The movie is based on the novel by Doris Lessing (Memoirs of a Survivor) and was adapted for the screen by Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons, Atonement). Philippe Carcassonne (Coco Before Chanel) , Dominique Besnehard and Andrew Mason (Dark City, Tomorrow When the War Began) are producing the Cine@, MonVoisin and Hopscotch Features production.
