Jon Natchez (The Climb, BOO!, Last Call, Luzzu, No Future, Pledge, Cubby) of the indie rock band The War on Drugs has recently scored the new sci-fi thriller War of the Worlds. The film is directed by Rich Lee and stars Ice Cube, Eva Longoria, Clark Gregg, Iman Benson, Sasha Lane, Michael O’Neill, Linus Sebastian, Devon Bostick, Henry Hunter Hall, Andrea Savage, Zach King, Olivia DeLaurentis and Sydney Heller. The movie is based on H.G. Wells’ classic novel and follows W a top cyber-security analyst for Homeland Security who spends his days tracking potential threats to national security through a mass surveillance program, until an attack by an unknown entity leads him to question whether the government is hiding something from the world.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (October 22, 2021)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi epic Dune directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista and Javier Bardem. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, The Lion King, Blade Runner 2049). Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Wreck-It-Ralph, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, X-Men: First Class, Big Hero 6, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu) has composed the film’s original score. ‘Luzzu’ Soundtrack Released
Little Twig Records has released a soundtrack album for the Maltese drama Luzzu. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jon Natchez (The Climb, Last Call, BOO!, Pledge, Cubby) of the indie rock band The War on Drugs. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. Luzzu is written and directed by Alex Camilleri and stars Jesmark Scicluna, Michela Farrugia and David Scicluna. The movie follows a Maltese fisherman who sees his livelihood imperiled by diminishing harvests, a ruthless fishing industry, and a stagnating ecosystem and gradually slips into an illicit black-market fishing operation to provide for his wife and their newborn son.

Opening in select theaters today is the comdedy The Climb co-written and directed by Michael Angelo Covino and starring Covino himself, alongside Kyle Marvin, Gayle Rankin, Talia Balsam, George Wendt and Judith Godréche. The movie, which follows two lifelong friends who are out for a bike ride through the mountains in the South of France when one of them confesses that he slept with the other’s fiancé premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released stateside by Sony Pictures Classics.

The film is directed by Luke Jaden and stars Jaden Piner, Aurora Perrineau, Jill Marie Jones, Charley Palmer Rothwell, Dwight Henry and Rob Zabrecky. The movie follows a family that battles an unseen force as they soon realize they must band together in order to stop the unimaginable terror.
