WaterTower Music has released the first track from the soundtrack for Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming sci-fi epic Dune: Part Three. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the Desert Chant by lead actor Timothée Chalamet and the film’s composer Hans Zimmer (Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception, The Lion King, Rain Man). Also listen to the track, which begins with Chalamet humming before building into an epic war chant, after the jump. Dune: Part Three is co-written and directed by Villeneuve and also stars Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinso, Isaach de Bankolé, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem.

‘Dune: Part Two’ Soundtrack Album Details
WaterTower Music has announced the details of the soundtrack album for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune: Part Two. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Inception, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, The Last Samurai). The soundtrack will be released on February 23 in standard, Dolby Atmos, CD and vinyl formats. Two first tracks (A Time of Quiet Between the Storms & Harvester Attack) have already been released today. The label has previously released Zimmer’s Academy Award-winning score from the first movie in 2021.
Volker Bertelmann to Score Max’s ‘Dune: The Sisterhood’
Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western Front, Lion, Adrift, Hotel Mumbai, The Old Guard, Patrick Melrose) has signed on to score the upcoming Max original series Dune: The Sisterhood. The show is created by Diane Ademu-John (The Haunting of Bly Manor) based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson and stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Jade Anouka, Chris Mason, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Aoife Hinds, Faoileann Cunningham and Chloe Lea The sci-fi drama is set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides and follows the Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind.
Billie Eilish, Finneas & Hans Zimmer Win Academy Awards for ‘No Time to Die’ & ‘Dune’
Billie Eilish & Finneas O’Connell were honored with their first Oscar at tonight’s 94th Academy Awards ceremony at the DolbyTheatre in Hollywood for their title song from Cary Fukunaga’s James Bond film No Time to Die. Check out their acceptance speech after the jump. Earlier in the evening, Hans Zimmer received his second Academy Award for his score for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. He previously won his first Oscar in 1995 for Disney’s The Lion King.
‘Dune’ Wins Cinema Audio Society Award
The team behind the sound mixing of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune has won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing in the Motion Pictures – Live Action category at tonight’s 58th annual Cinema Audio Society Awards ceremony at the InterContinental in Downtown Los Angeles. Scoring mixer Alan Meyerson, along with production mixer: Mac Ruth, re-recording mixers Ron Bartlett & Douglas Hemphill, ADR mixer Tommy O’Connell and foley mixer Don White received the award for the sci-fi epic scored by Hans Zimmer. In the Motion Pictures – Animated category, scoring mixer Alvin Wee was honored as part of the sound mixing team of Disney’s Encanto (scored by Germaine Franco).
Hans Zimmer Wins Critics Choice Award for ‘Dune’ Score
Hans Zimmer was honored with the Critics Choice Award in the Best Score category for his music for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune at tonight’s 27th Critics Choice Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. He previously won the award back in 2001 for his scores for Gladiator, Mission: Impossible 2 and The Road to El Dorado and was nominated multiple other times. The other composers nominated in the category were Nicholas Britell for Don’t Look Up, Jonny Greenwood for The Power of the Dog and Spencer and Nathan Johnson for Nightmare Alley.

Hans Zimmer has received his first BAFTA Award for his music for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune in the Original Score category at today’s 2022 EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London. He has previously been nominated numerous times for such films as The Lion King, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, The Dark Knight,Inception, 12 Years a Slave, Interstellar, Dunkirk and Blade Runner 2049. The composer is also nominated for an Academy Award for his Dune score. The other composers nominated in the category were Daniel Pemberton (Being the Ricardos), Nicholas Britell (Don’t Look Up), Alexandre Desplat (The French Dispatch) and Jonny Greenwood (The Power of the Dog).

Hans Zimmer has received his third Golden Globe in the Original Score category for his score for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune at tonight’s 79th Golden Globe Awards ceremony. He previously his first two Golden Globes for 1994’s The Lion King and 2000’s Gladiator and was honored with multiple other nominations over the last three decades. The other composers nominated in the score category were Alexandre Desplat (The French Dispatch), Germaine Franco (Encanto), Jonny Greenwood (The Power of the Dog) and Alberto Iglesias (Parallel Mother).
Hans Zimmer to Return for Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Two’
Hans Zimmer has confirmed that he will be returning for the Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two. Legendary Pictures & Warner Bros. Pictures have announced today that production on the second part of the sci-epic is moving forward. No casting announcements have been made yet, but most cast members from the first installment are expected to return. Zimmer’s music from Part One has been released by WaterTower Music. Dune starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista and Javier Bardem is currently playing in theaters nationwide and also available to stream on HBO Max.
