Ludwig Göransson has received his second BAFTA Award for his music for Ryan Coogler’s Sinners in the Original Score category at today’s 2024 EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London. He previously received his first BAFTA for his score from Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer in 2024. The other composers nominated in the category were Jerskin Fendrix (Bugonia), Alexandre Desplat (Frankenstein), Max Richter (Hamnet) and Jonny Greenwood (One Battle After Another).

The British Academy of Film and Television has announced the nominations for the 2026 EE British Academy Film Awards, including the five nominees in the music category. The organization has previously released a shortlist of ten titles last month. 2026 BAFTA Awards Original Score Longlist Announced
The British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) today announced the longlists for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2026. 112 films were submitted for consideration in the Original Score category and 10 titles are advancing. Members of the Music chapter vote to determine the llonglist and the nominations. Round Two voting, to determine the nominations, is opening today to BAFTA’s voting members and will close on January 20. The nominations for the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2026 will be announced on January 27 and the ceremony will take place on February 22.
Daniel Blumberg Wins BAFA Award for ‘The Brutalist’ Score
Daniel Blumberg has received his first BAFTA Award for his music for Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist in the Original Score category at today’s 2025 EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London. Round One voting produced the longlists in all categories announced today. 118 films were submitted for consideration. Round Two voting, to determine the nominations, is opening today to BAFTA’s voting members and will close on January 12. The nominations for the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2025 will be announced on January 15 and the ceremony will take place on February 16.

Volker Bertelmann Wins BAFTA Award for ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ Score
Volker Bertelmann has received his first BAFTA Award for his music for Edward Berger’s Netflix film All Quiet on the Western Freont in the Original Score category at today’s 2023 EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London. He has previously been BAFTA-nominated back in 2017 for his music from Garth Davis’ Lion (shared with Dustin O’Halloran).
