Weekly Film Music Roundup (March 13, 2026)

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the romantic drama Reminders of Him directed by Vanessa Caswill and starring Maika Monroe, Tyriq Withers, Rudy Pankow, Bradley Whitford, Lainey Wilson and Lauren Graham.  The film’s original score is composed by Tom Howe (Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Knuckles, Dog Man, Daisy Jones & the Six,  A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Early Man, Book Club: The New Chapter). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song by Noah Cyrus and another song by Morgan Harper-Jones today. Also opening wide is the Canadian horror feature Undertone written and directed by Ian Tuason and starring Nina Kiri, Adam DiMarco, Michèle Duquet,  Jeff Yung and Keana Lyn Bastidas. Shanika Lewis-Waddell has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows the host of a popular paranormal podcast who becomes haunted by terrifying recordings mysteriously sent her way, premiered at last year’s Fantasia International Film Festival and is being distributed by A24.

‘Pompei: Below the Clouds’ Soundtrack Album Released

OTOROKU has released a soundtrack album for the Italian documentary Pompei: Below the Clouds (Sotto le nuvole). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist, The Testament of Ann Lee, The World to Come). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s first and final track after the jump. Pompei: Below the Clouds is written and directed by Gianfranco Rosi and is being described as a “portrait of life in Naples, a city living in the shadow of Vesuvius” and a “reflection on humanity’s capacity to live, love, and rebuild in the shadow of the unimaginable.”

‘The Testament of Ann Lee’ Soundtrack Album Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for the historical musical drama The Testament of Ann Lee have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score and songs composed by Academy Award winner Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist, The World to Come). The soundtrack will be released on January 16, 2026 by Milan Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first track (the original song Clothed by the Sun) has previously been released as a digital single earlier this month and a second track (Hunger & Thirst performed by Blumberg and lead actress Amanda Seyfried) is coming out today and can be checked out after the jump. The Testament of Ann Lee is co-written and directed by Mona Fastvold and stars Seyfried, Thomasin Mckenzie, Lewis Pullman, Tim Blake Nelson, Christopher Abbott, Stacy Martin, Matthew Beard,  Scott Handy, Viola Prettejohn, Jamie Bogyo and David Cale.

Milan Records has released the original song Clothed by the Sun from the historical musical drama The Testament of Ann Lee. The track written by the film’s composer Daniel Blumberg (The Brutalist, The World to Come) and performed by himself and lead actress Amanda Seyfried is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Daniel Blumberg Wins Academy Award for ‘The Brutalist’ Score

Daniel Blumberg was honored with his first Academy Award for his score for Brady Corbet’s epic period drama The Brutalist at tonight’s 97th Oscar ceremony. Check out his acceptance speech after the jump. The other nominated composers in the Original Score category were Volker Bertelmann (Conclave), Clément Ducol & Camille (Emilia Pérez), John Powell & Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot).

Daniel Blumberg Wins BAFA Award for ‘The Brutalist’ Score

Daniel Blumberg has received his first BAFTA Award for his music for Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist in the Original Score category at today’s 2025 EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London. He is also up for an Academy Award for his score for the epic drama. Check out his acceptance speech below. The other composers nominated in the category were Volker Bertelmann for Conclave, Clément Ducol & Camille for Emilia Pérez, Robin Carolan for Nosferatu and Kris Bowers for The Wild Robot.

Opening in theaters nationwide is Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King directed by Barry Jenkins and starring Aaron Pierre, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Tiffany Boone, Mads Mikkelsen, Anika Noni Rose,Keith David, Seth Rogen, Thandiwe Newton, Billy Eichner, Donald Glover, Blue Ivy Carter and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.The film’s original songs are written by and the movie’s original score is composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Encanto, Moana, Hamilton, In the Heights) and Dave Metzger (Wish, Tarzan & Jane, Brother Bear 2). Lebo M has provided additional music and performances and Mark Mancina has produced the songs with Miranda. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs and another album featuring the score, as well as a deluxe edition featuring both score and songs over the last week. Also opening nationwide is the action adventure comedy sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 3 directed by Jeff Fowler and starring Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz James Marsden, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, Krysten Ritter, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Lee Majdoub, Adam Pally and Shemar Moore. Tom Holkenborg (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Godzilla vs. Kong, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Daniel Blumberg has composed and produced the original music for the upcoming movie musical Ann Lee. The film is directed by Mona Fastvold and stars Amanda Seyfried, Thomasin McKenzie, Lewis Pullman, Tim Blake Nelson, Christopher Abbott, Stacy Martin, Viola Prettejohn, Matthew Beard, Scott Handy, David Cale and Jamie Bogyo. The drama is inspired by real events and centers on the titular founding leader of the Shaker Movement, who was proclaimed by her followers as the female Christ and went on to build one of the largest utopian societies in American history.

‘The Brutalist’ Soundtrack Album Details

Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Brady Corbet’s epic drama The Brutalist. The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Blumberg (The World to Come). The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Three first tracks are already available to stream/download now and can also be checked out below. A CD version and vinyl edition will be coming out next year and is now available for pre-order here. The Brutalist is co-written and directed by Corbet and stars Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Stacy Martin, Raffey Cassidy, Emma Laird, Isaach de Bankolé and Alessandro Nivola. The movie follows a visionary architect  escaping post-war Europe who arrives in America to rebuild his life, his work, and his marriage to his wife after being forced apart during wartime, and settles in Pennsylvania, where a wealthy industrialist recognizes his talent for building.

British songwriter and composer Daniel Blumberg is set to score the upcoming drama The Brutalist. The film is directed by Brady Corbet (Vox Lux, Childhood of a Leader) and stars Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Alessandro Nivola, Stacy Martin, Isaach De Bankolé, Jonathan Hyde and Peter Polycarpou. The movie follows a visionary architect and his wife as they flee post-war Europe to rebuild their legacy in America, where a mysterious and wealthy client ends up changing their lives forever. Corbet also co-wrote the screenplay with Mona Fastvold (whose last directorial effort, The World to Come, marked Blumberg’s feature film scoring debut).
