British songwriter and composer Daniel Blumberg is set to score the upcoming drama The Brutalist. The film is directed by Brady Corbet (Vox Lux, Childhood of a Leader) and stars Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Alessandro Nivola, Stacy Martin, Isaach De Bankolé, Jonathan Hyde and Peter Polycarpou. The movie follows a visionary architect and his wife as they flee post-war Europe to rebuild their legacy in America, where a mysterious and wealthy client ends up changing their lives forever. Corbet also co-wrote the screenplay with Mona Fastvold (whose last directorial effort, The World to Come, marked Blumberg’s feature film scoring debut). Trevor Matthews & Nick Gordon (The Forgiven, Brothers by Blood) are producing the project with Brian Young, Andrew Morrison (Funny Face), Andrew Lauren (The Spectacular Now) and D.J. Gugenheim (High Life, Anything’s Possible). The Brutalist is currently shooting in Hungary. No word yet on a release date. (Deadline)
