Ludwig Göransson was honored with his second Academy Award for his score for Christopher Nolan’s drama Oppenheimer at tonight’s 96th Oscar ceremony. He previously won his first Oscar for his music from Marvel’s Black Panther in 2019 and was also nominated last year for the song Lift Me Up from its sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. ‘Oppenheimer’ Wins Cinema Audio Society Award
The team behind the sound mixing of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing in the Motion Pictures – Live Action category at tonight’s 60th annual Cinema Audio Society Awards ceremony at the at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. Scoring mixer Chris Fogel, along with production mixer Willie D. Burton, re-recording mixerx Gary A. Rizzo & Kevin O’Connell and foley mixers Tavish Grade, Jack Cucci &Mikel Parraga-Wills received the award for the film scored by Ludwig Göransson. In the Motion Pictures – Animated category, scoring mixer Sam Okell was honored as part of the sound mixing team of Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (scored by Daniel Pemberton).

Ludwig Göransson has received his first BAFTA Award for his music for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer in the Original Score category at today’s 2024 EE British Academy Film Awards ceremony in London. He previously won the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award and is also up for an Academy Award for his score for the biographical thriller. ‘Oppenheimer: Live in Concert’ Experience Announced
Universal Pictures and Syncopy today announced Oppenheimer: Live in Concert, a live-to-film concert experience featuring a 53-piece orchestra under the direction of the film’s Academy Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, The Mandalorian, Tenet, Creed, Turning Red), conducted by Anthony Parnther. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Royce Hall, on the Westwood campus of UCLA in Los Angeles and will include a special introduction by Oppenheimer writer/director/producer Christopher Nolan. Tickets are now available now at roycehall.org. Back Lot Music & Mondo have released the drama’s official soundtrack album featuring Göransson’s score this past summer.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the fantasy comedy Barbie co-written and directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Rhea Perlman, Alexandra Shipp, Ariana Greenblatt and Michael Cera. The film’s original score is composed by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the historical thriller Oppenheimer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Creed, Tenet, The Mandalorian, Venom, Turning Red, Community). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 21 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Universal Pictures announced today that Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Creed, The Mandalorian, Venom, Community) will reteam with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Memento) on the director’s upcoming historical drama Oppenheimer. The film is written and directed by Nolan and will star Cillian Murphy in the title role of American physicist, J. Robert Oppenheimer. The movie is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird & Martin J. Sherwin and is produced by Nolan, Emma Thomas and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven (Wonder Woman, Man of Steel).
