Ludwig Göransson was honored with his second Academy Award for his score for Christopher Nolan’s drama Oppenheimer at tonight’s 96th Oscar ceremony. He previously won his first Oscar for his music from Marvel’s Black Panther in 2019 and was also nominated last year for the song Lift Me Up from its sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. ‘Barbie The Movie: In Concert’ at Hollywood Bowl Announced
The Hollywood Bowl has announced an addition to its 2024 summer schedule. Barbie The Movie: In Concert will feature the Academy Award-nominated movie directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling accompanied live by The Barbie Land Sinfonietta, an all-women, majority women-of-color orchestra conducted by Tony Award-winner Macy Schmidt. ‘Ken The EP’ Released
Atlantic Records has released an EP featuring three new versions of the original song I’m Just Ken from Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy Barbie. The 4-track EP features a holiday version (Merry Kristmas Barbie), an acoustic version (In My Feelings Acoustic) and a dance rremix (Purple Disco Machine Remix) of the track written by Mark Ronson & Andrew Wyatt and performed by Ryan Gosling (in addition to the original version) and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. ‘Barbie’ Score Album to Be Released
WaterTower Music will release a new soundtrack album for Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy Barbie. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mark Ronson (who also served as the project’s executive music producer) & Andrew Wyatt. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 4 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. CD and vinyl editions will be released by Waxwork Records (visit the label’s website or Amazon to pre-order). Atlantic Records has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie in two different versions. Barbie is co-written and directed by Gerwig and stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ana Cruz Kayne, Alexandra Shipp, Hari Nef, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Simu Liu.
‘Barbie’ “Best Weekend Ever Edition” Soundtrack Album Released
Atlantic Records has released a “deluxe” version of the soundtrack album for Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy Barbie. The Best Weekend Ever Edition features two additional songs recorded for the movie: a cover of Matchbox Twenty’s Push produced by Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt & George Drakoulias and performed by Ryan Gosling (who stars as Ken), as well as a cover of Indigo Girls’s Closer to Fine performed by Brandi Carlile & Catherine Carlile. The new edition of the soundtrack is now available to stream/download here. Also listen to both additional tracks below. Darkroom/Interscope Records have released the seventh song from the soundtrack for Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy Barbie. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is What Was I Made For? co-written (with FINNEAS) and performed by Billie Eilish. FINNEAS also produced the track with the movie’s composers Mark Ronson & Andrew Wyatt. Check out the official music video after the jump. The song will also be included on the film’s official soundtrack album (to be released on July 21 by Atlantic Records). Six first songs from the album have already been released in the last couple of weeks.
