The film is directed by Wayne Wang (The Joy Luck Club, Maid in Manhattan) and stars Gabriel Byrne, Fan Bingbing and Lily Frank. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Jun’ichirō Tanizaki and follows an aging widower who gets drawn into an unnervingly intimate relationship with his caregiver daughter-in-law.

Arthur Sharpe (Guilt, The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, Ghosts, Flowers, The Darkest Universe) has won his first BAFTA TV Craft Award for his music from the HBO/Sky series Landscapers starring Olivia Colman & David Thewlis at tonight’s awards ceremony at The Brewery in London.
