Also opening wide is the historical drama The Last Duel directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer and Ben Affleck. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and a song performed by Grace Davidson today. Opening in limited release is the drama Hard Luck Love Song co-written and directed by Justin Corsbie and starring Michael Dorman, Sophia Bush, Dermot Mulroney, RZA, Eric Roberts, Brian Sacca and Melora Walters. The film’s original music composed by Will Blair & Brooke Blair (Green RoomHold the Dark, Black Christmas, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, Blue Ruin). No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a charismatic but down on his luck troubadour who finds himself at an existential crossroads as bad choices catch up with him during an unexpected reunion with an old flame, is being released exclusively in theaters by Roadside Attractions. Opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD next Friday, October 22, is the drama Bergman Island written and directed by Mia Hansen-Løve and starring Mia Wasikowska, Tim Roth, Vicky Krieps and Ander Danielsen Lie. The film doesn’t feature an original score. Raphael Hamburger serves as the project’s music supervisor. The movie, which follows a couple of American filmmakers who retreat to the mythical Fårö island, where Bergman lived and shot his most celebrated pieces, for the summer, premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released by IFC Films.

Opening in select theaters and on VOD today before coming out Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, October 19, is the sci-fi romance Needle in a Timestack written and directed by John Ridley and starring Leslie Odom Jr, Cynthia Erivo, Orlando Bloom, Freida Pinto and Jadyn Wong. Mark Isham (CrashOnce Upon a TimeThe Accountant, A River Runs Through It, Miracle, Little Fires Everywhere) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. Also opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the British comedy drama The Grand Duke of Corsica written and directed by Daniel Graham and starring Timothy Spall, Peter Stormare and Matt Hookings. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Saunderson (Three Identical Strangers, Starfish, TryingThe More You Ignore MeStrike Back). Filmtrax/Atlantic Screen Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. The War on Drugs’ Jon Natchez (The ClimbLast Call, Pledge, BOO!Cubby) has composed the film’s original music. Little Twig Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening in select U.S. theaters while also premiering on Apple TV+ today is the documentary The Velvet Underground directed by Todd Haynes about one of the most influential bands in rock and roll. The movie doesn’t feature an original score. Randall Poster (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Irishman) serves as the project’s music supervisor. Republic Records/UMe have released a soundtrack album featuring  well-known and rare tracks from the band, as well as songs and performances that influenced the group.
