Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC Earth documentary series Planet Earth. The album features the show’s main theme composed by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lion King, Inception, Interstellar), as well as the series’ original music written by Jacob Shea (Through the Wormhole, Sparks) and Jasha Klebe (Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom) for Bleeding Fingers Music. The soundtrack will be released on November 11, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Planet Earth II is narrated by David Attenborough, executive produced by Michael Gunton (Hidden Kingdoms, Life), produced by Tom Hugh-Jones (Planet Life) and explores the unique characteristics of Earth’s most iconic habitats and the extraordinary ways animals survive within them.

Premiering tomorrow, October 24, is the new CBS comedy Man with a Plan created by Jackie & Jeff Filgo (That 70’s Show) and starring Matt LeBlanc, Liza Snyder, Kevin Nealon, Diana Maria Riva, Matt Cook and Jessica Chaffi. The show’s original music is composed by John Kimbrough (Winter Passing, Jump Tomorrow, A Decade Under the Influence). The series follows a contractor who must take on a more active parenting role when his wife goes back to work for the first time in 13 years. The comedy will air every Monday night on CBS. Premiering on Thursday, October 27, is the new CBS comedy The Great Indoors created by Mike Gibbons and starring Joel McHale, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Susannah Fielding, Christine Ko, Shaun Brown, Stephen Fry and Chris Williams. Ben and Scott Hoffman are composing the show’s original music. The series revolves around an adventure reporter who, after being sidelined by an injury, suddenly finds himself in his magazine’s digital/social media department, where he must manage a group of millennials. Premiering tonight is the Epix original series Berlin Station created by Olen Steinhauer and starring Richard Armitage, Michelle Forbes, Richard Jenkins, Rhys Ifans, Tamlyn Tomita, Leland Orser, Richard Dillane and Bernhard Schütz. The show’s original music is composed by Reinhold Heil (Run Lola Run, The International, Cloud Atlas, Helix, Deutschland 83). BBC America’s ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’ to Feature Music by Cristobal Tapia de Veer
Cristobal Tapia de Veer is composing the music for the upcoming BBC America original series Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency. The show is developed by Max Landis (Chronicle, American Ultra) and stars Samuel Barnett, Elijah Wood, Hannah Marks, Jade Eshete, Mpho Koaho, Fiona Dourif, Michael Eklund, Miguel Sandoval, Dustin Milligan, Aaron Douglas, Neil Brown Jr. and Richard Schiff. The comedic thriller is based on Douglas Adams’ novel of the same name and follows the bizarre adventures of eccentric “holistic” detective Dirk Gently and his reluctant assistant Todd, as they wend their way through one big, seemingly insane mystery.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the BBC natural history documentary The Hunt executive produced by Alastair Fothergill, produced by Huw Cordey and narrated Sir David Attenborough. The show’s original music is composed by Steven Price (Gravity, Suicide Squad, Fury, Attack the Block, At World’s End) who received the BAFTA TV Craft Award for his work on the series earlier this year. Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score overseas last year. The domestic album release is set for July 8. Hans Zimmer, Jasha Klebe & Jacob Shea of Bleeding Fingers Music Scoring BBC’s ‘Planet Earth II’
BBC Earth has announced that Hans Zimmer is composing the music for the upcoming docu-series Planet Earth II. He is composing the show’s theme and main titles. Jasha Klebe who previously scored last year’s Oscar-nominated documentary Winter on Fire and Jacob Shea who is known for his music for the Morgan Freeman-hosted series Through the Wormhole are also involved in scoring the show courtesy of the music production house Bleeding Fingers Custom Music Shop (Saints & Strangers, Sons of Liberty). The series is narrated by David Attenborough, executive produced by Michael Gunton (Hidden Kingdoms, Life, Africa) and produced by Tom Hugh-Jones (Planet Life). The 6-parter explores the unique characteristics of Earth’s most iconic habitats and the extraordinary ways animals survive within them.
‘The Musketeers’ Seasons 2 & 3 Soundtrack Announced
Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC series The Musketeers. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second and third season composed by Paul Englishby (An Education, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Sunshine on Leith, Luther). The soundtrack will be released on July 1, 2016. The Musketeers is created by Andrew Hodges and stars Luke Pasqualino, Tom Burke, Santiago Cabrera, Howard Charles, Peter Capaldi, Maimie McCoy, Tamla Kari and Hugo Speer. The drama is set on the streets of 17th century Paris and follows the adventures of Athos, Aramis and Porthos.

Premiering tomorrow, February 22, is the HBO documentary Becoming Mike Nichols directed and produced by Douglas McGrath and documents the early life of the influential director and producer. The film’s original music is composed by David Lawrence (American Pie, High School Musical, Jericho, Van Wilder: Party Liaison) who previously scored McGrath’s 2000 feature Company Men. Premiering on Thursday, February 25, is the British mini-series Prey created by Chris Lunt and starring Rosie Cavaliero, John Simm, Philip Glenister and MyAnna Buring. Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Counselor) has scored the first three episodes directed by Nick Murphy and Sarah Warne composed the music for the other three episodes directed by Lewis Arnold. Vince Pope Scoring BBC’s ‘Undercover’
Vince Pope is currently scoring the upcoming BBC mini-series Undercover. The 6-parter is created by Peter Moffat (Silk, Criminal Justice) and stars Sophie Okonedo, Adrian Lester and Dennis Haysbert. The political thriller follows a woman who is about to become the first black woman to hold the highest ranking public prosecutor role in England. Hilary Salmon (Silent Witness, London Spy) is executive producing the project and James Hawes (The Challenger Disaster, Enid) is directing the show. Pope has previously composed the music for Moffat’s Channel 4 series No Offence.
