Air-Edel Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama City of Dreams. The album features the film’s original score composed by Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator, Whale Rider,The Insider, Ali, Jane Got a Gun) and Bennett Salvay (Jeepers Creepers, Friday Night Lights, Anger Management, Fuller House ). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to Gerrad’s first track (Home) and Salvay’s title track after the jump. City of Dreams is written and directed by Mohit Ramchandani and stars Ari Lopez, Paulina Gaitan, Jason Patric, Alfredo Castro, Samm Levine, Francisco Denis and Diego Calva. The movie chronicles the journey of a Mexican boy who dreams of being a soccer star who is trafficked, sold to a sweatshop, and driven to risk his life fighting back.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (August 30, 2024)
Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi horror thriller Afraid written and directed by Chris Weitz and starring John Cho, Katherine Waterston, Havana Rose Liu,Lukita Maxwell, David Dastmalchian and Keith Carradine. The film’s original score is composed by Alex Weston (The Farewell, Expats, Wander Darkly, The Adults, The Novice, Goodnight Mommy) who also co-wrote the original song I Love You (with Weitz) for the project. Madison Gate Records will release a soundtrack album according to the movie’s end credits, but no announcement has been made yet. Also opening wide is the biographical drama Reagan directed by Sean McNamara and starring Dennis Quaid, Penelope Ann Miller, Jon Voight, Kevin Dillon, Olek Krupa, David Henrie, Mena Suvari, Xander Berkely, C. Thomas Howell, Trevor Donovan, Robert Davi, Kevin Sorbo Lesley-Anne Down and Jennifer O’Neill. John Coda (Bratz, The King’s Daughter, Hoovey, Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a score release. Weekly TV Music Roundup (February 21, 2016)
Premiering tomorrow, February 22, is the HBO documentary Becoming Mike Nichols directed and produced by Douglas McGrath and documents the early life of the influential director and producer. The film’s original music is composed by David Lawrence (American Pie, High School Musical, Jericho, Van Wilder: Party Liaison) who previously scored McGrath’s 2000 feature Company Men. Premiering on Thursday, February 25, is the British mini-series Prey created by Chris Lunt and starring Rosie Cavaliero, John Simm, Philip Glenister and MyAnna Buring. Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Counselor) has scored the first three episodes directed by Nick Murphy and Sarah Warne composed the music for the other three episodes directed by Lewis Arnold. The show’s original music is composed by Bennett Salvay (Jeepers Creepers, Friday Night Lights, Providence). Partners follows two Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court as they each face a personal crisis. The comedy will air every Monday night on FX. Bennett Salvay to Score FX’s ‘Partners’
Bennett Salvay has signed on to score the upcoming FX comedy Partners. The show stars Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence as two Chicago lawyers from vastly different backgrounds who unexpectedly meet in court as they each face a personal crisis. Telma Hopkins, Rory O’Malley, McKaley Miller, Edi Patterson and Danièle Watts are co-starring. Bob Boyett and Robert Horn (Good Advice) serve as the series’ showrunners. They are also executive producing the Lionsgate Television production with Grammer, Lawrence, Brian Sher & Stella Bulochnikov (Boss), Michael Green and Sam Maydew.
Bennett Salvay Scoring ‘Carjacked’
Bennett Salvay is currently scoring the thriller Carjacked (aka Jacked). The film centers on a single mother who helps her son escape from a carjacking and must free herself when the villain drives her vehicle into a lake. Mario Bello and Stephen Dorff are starring in the thriller. Carjacked is directed by John Bonito who previously directed the John Cena-toplined action movie The Marine with music by Don Davis. Anchor Bay has picked up domestic rights for the film and a release date later this year is expected.
