Walt Disney Records will release the first-ever score album for Disney Channel’s High School Musical trilogy. The album features selections of the original score from the movies composed by David Lawrence (American Pie, Descendants, Van Wilder, Julie and the Phantoms, Teen Beach Movie, Company Man). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 15 and will be available to stream/download here, where you can also listen to audio clips. The High School Musica trilogy is directed by Kenny Ortega and stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman.

Score Album for Disney Channel’s ‘Descendants’ Announced
Walt Disney Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Disney Channel franchise Descendants. The album features selections of the original score from all three movies in the series composed by David Lawrence (High School Musical, American Pie, Van Wilder, Julie and the Phantoms, Teen Beach Movie, Company Man). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and all other major digital music stores. The label has previously released soundtracks featuring the songs from the original 2015 Descendants film, 2017’s Descendants 2 and 2019’s Descendants 3. The albums for the first and third movie also featured a score suite by Lawrence. The Descendants trilogy is directed by Kenny Ortega, created by Josann McGibbon & Sara Parriott and stars Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Sofia Carson and Booboo Stewart.

Walt Disney Records has released the official soundtrack album for the Disney Channel original movie Descendants 3. The album features the songs from the third installment in the Descendants series performed by cast members Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, Cameron Boyce, Sarah Jefferey, Jadah Marie, Anna Cathcart, Dylan Playfair, China Anne McClain and Thomas Doherty. Also included is score suite written by the movie’s composer David Lawrence (American Pie, High School Musical). The soundtrack is now available digitally and physically on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips.

The series is set in Long Beach, California and centers on a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer who’s drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business. The series follows a television actor who returns to his small hometown after a public meltdown and partners with his detective friend to use his acting experience to solve real crimes. David Lawrence (American Pie, High School Musical, Descendants) has composed the original score for the upcoming Disney Channel original movie Freaky Friday. The film is directed by Steve Carr (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Daddy Day Care) and stars Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Heidi Blickenstaff, Alex Désert, Jason Maybaum, Kahyun Kim, Dara Reneé, Jennifer Laporte, Isaiah Lehtinen and Sarah Willey. The comedy is based on the Disney Theatrical Production stage adaptation of the novel by Mary Rodgers about a mother and daughter who spend a day in each other’s shoes.

David Lawrence to Score Douglas McGrath’s HBO Documentary ‘Becoming Mike Nichols’
David Lawrence has signed on to score the upcoming documentary Becoming Mike Nichols. The film is directed by Douglas McGrath (Emma, Nicholas Nickleby, I Don’t Know How She Does It, Infamous) and shows director, producer and improvisational comedy Mike Nichols’ final and historic interviews filmed just months before his death. The movie documents the early life of Nichols (The Graduate, Closer, The Birdcage, Charlie Wilson’s War), as he opens up to his friend and director Jack O’Brien about the storied beginnings of his career. McGrath is also producing the project with Frank Rich and Jack O’Brien. Lawrence has previously collaborated with the director on the 2000 comedy Company Men.
