Premiering tonight is the HBO original series The Brink created by Kim & Roberto Benabib and starring Jack Black, Tim Robbins, Pablo Schreiber, Aasif Mandvi, Maribeth Monroe, Eric Ladin, Esai Morales and Geoff Pierson. David Robbins (Dead Man Walking, Welcome to Me, Bob Roberts) has composed the show’s original music. Also premiering tonight is the HBO comedy Ballers created by Stephen Levinson, executive produced by Mark Wahlberg & Peter Berg and starring Dwayne Johnson, John David Washington, Omar Miller, Donovan Carter, Troy Garity, Rob Corddry, London Brown and Jazmyn Simon. The show doesn’t feature an original score. Scott Vener (Entourage) serves as the project’s music supervisor. Ballers follows a former football superstar who gets his life on track in retirement, while mentoring other current and former players on the business of football. Premiering on Saturday, July 19 is Disney Channel’s original movie musical Teen Beach Movie directed by Jeffrey Hornaday and starring Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Grace Phipps, Garrett Clayton, John DeLuca, Chrissie Fit, Kevin Chamberlin and Steve Valentine. The film’s original score is composed by David Lawrence (American Pie, Van Wilder, Jericho) who previously scored all three parts of Disney’s High School Musical series.
