Dragon’s Domain Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1990 sci-fi comedy Spaced Invaders written and directed by Patrick Read Johnson and starring Douglas Barr, Royal Dano and Ariana Richards. The album features the original music from the Touchstone Pictures production composed and conducted by David Russo (Gotham, Nikita, Pennyworth, Angus, Dark Blue, Gotham Knights, Alone with Her, 5-25-77). The limited edition CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and check out the full album details.

David Russo Scoring The CW’s ‘Gotham Knights’
David Russo (Gotham, Nikita, The Tomorrow People) is composing the original score for the new CW drama Gotham Knights. The show is developed by Natalie Abrams, Chad Fiveash & James Stoteraux (Batwoman) based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger and stars Oscar Morgan, Fallon Smythe, Olivia Rose Keegan, Tyler DiChiara, Navia Robinson and Misha Collins. The superhero drama follows a group of mismatched fugitives who must band together after Bruce Wayne is murdered to become Gotham City’s next generation of saviors.
Soundtrack Albums for Epix’s & HBO Max’s ‘Pennyworth’ to Be Released
WaterTower Music will release two new soundtrack albums for the Epix/HBO Max original series Pennyworth. The first album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by David Russo (Gotham, Nikita, The Tomorrow People) and a second album featuring selections of the original score from Season 2 composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, The LEGO Batman Movie, Top Gun: Maverick, His Dark Materials, Bad Boys for Life). ‘Gotham’ Season 2, 3, 4 & 5 Soundtrack Albums Released
Composer David Russo (Pennyworth, Nikita, The Tomorrow People) has released four new soundtrack albums for the Fox drama Gotham. The albums feature selections of the original music from the show’s second, third, fourth and fifth season. The Season 2, Season 3, Season 4 and Season 5 albums are now available to stream/download on Amazon, Apple Music and other digital music stores/services. WaterTower Music has previously released a soundtrack album featuring Russo’s & Graeme Revell’s score from the first season in 2018. Gotham developed by Bruno Heller based on the DC Comics characters and starring Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue,David Mazouz, Sean Pertwee, Zabryna Guevara, Robin Lord Taylor and Erin Richards premiered on between 2014 and 2019 on Fox.

David Russo (Gotham, Nikita, The Tomorrow People) is currently scoring the upcoming Epix original series Pennyworth. The show is developed by Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome) based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger and stars Jack Bannon, Paloma Faith, Ben Aldridge, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett, Ryan Fletcher, Jason Flemyng and Polly Walker. The drama centers on Bruce Wayne’s legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier who forms a security company and goes to work with Thomas Wayne, Bruce’s billionaire father, in 1960’s London.

5th Annual Superhero Music Panel at Comic-Con Announced
The line-up of the 5th Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero panel has been announced. A number of Hollywood film and TV composers will explain the process and challenges of creating the musical voice behind the superhero and their environment as well as collaborating with the director, producers and the franchise. Participating composers include Marco Beltrami who recently scored James Mangold’s Logan, and has previously scored comic book movies including The Wolverine, Fantastic Four and Hellboy, Brian Tyler whose superhero film credits include Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3 and Ludwig Goransson who is making his scoring debut in the genre on Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther.
