Jeff Russo (Star Trek: Discovery, The Umbrella Academy), Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, The Prince of Egypt), Wendy Carlos (Tron, The Shining), Sean Callery (Homeland, Jessica Jones), Kurt Farquhar (Black Lightning, Black Soul) and Jim Dooley (A Series of Unfortunate Events, Pushing Daisies) will be participating in a discussion moderated by a to-be-announced celebrity moderator.

The line-up for several film music-related panels at Comic-Con 2018 has been announced. On Thursday, July 19, a number of film/TV composers will participate in the 10th annual Behind the Music panel. Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story), Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Runaways), Jared Faber (Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, Captain Underpants), Jim Dooley (A Series of Unfortunate Events), Sherri Chung (Riverdale, Blindspot) and Kris Bowers (Dear White People) will be participating in a discussion moderated by actors Jon Huertas (This Is Us) and Sara Rue (A Series of Unfortunate Events).
6th Annual Superhero Music Panel at Comic-Con Announced
The line-up of the 6th Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero panel has been announced. The event offers a behind-the-scenes look at the music of today’s biggest superhero film and TV projects with unreleased film clips and never-before-heard music. Participating composers include Marco Beltrami whose superhero movie scoring credits include Logan, The Wolverine, Fantastic Four and Hellboy, Christophe Beck who recently scored Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp and previously scored the original Ant-Man movie, as well as Elektra and Tyler Bates who recently scored Deadpool 2 and has also composed the music for the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, as well as the Watchmen film adaptation.

On Friday, July 21, a number of film/Tv composers will participate in the 9th annual Behind the Music panel presented by CW3PR and Impact24 PR. Jeff Russo (Legion, Fargo), Sean Callery (Jessica Jones, 24), Kris Bowers (Dear White People), Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story), Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Runaways) and Blake Neely (The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Riverdale) will be participating in a discussion moderated by actors Rachel Keller (Legion, Fargo) & Jeremie Harris (Legion,The Get Down). The composers will give insight on how they contribute to many of the most popular fantasy/fiction titles in the TV and film worlds.
5th Annual Superhero Music Panel at Comic-Con Announced
The line-up of the 5th Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero panel has been announced. A number of Hollywood film and TV composers will explain the process and challenges of creating the musical voice behind the superhero and their environment as well as collaborating with the director, producers and the franchise. Participating composers include Marco Beltrami who recently scored James Mangold’s Logan, and has previously scored comic book movies including The Wolverine, Fantastic Four and Hellboy, Brian Tyler whose superhero film credits include Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3 and Ludwig Goransson who is making his scoring debut in the genre on Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther.

On Thursday, July 21, a number of film composers will participate in The 4th Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero. Henry Jackman (Captain America: Civil War & The Winter Soldier, X-Men: First Class), Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Deadpool, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), John Ottman (X2, X-Men: Days of Future Past & Apocalypse) and Blake Neely (The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow) will be participating in a discussion moderated by composer George S. Clinton (Austin Powers, Mortal Kombat). The panel will take place at 11:00am in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton hotel.
‘The Character of Music: Classic Horror Special Edition’ Panel at Comic-Con Announced
The line-up for the annual The Character of Music panel at Comic-Con in San Diego has been announced. This year’s Classic Horror Special Edition will feature a number of composers discussing the power of music in horror films with a Q&A to follow. Panelists include composers Charles Bernstein (Nightmare on Elm Street), Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th), Laura Karpman (Carrie), Richard Band (Re-Animator), Tyler Bates (Dawn of the Dead), Maurizio Guarini of Goblin (Suspiria), as well as special guest actor Douglas Tait (Freddy vs. Jason).

Participating composers include Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg who recently scored the action hit Mad Max: Fury Road and has Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice coming up, Brian Tyler whose superhero film credits include Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3, as well as Marco Beltrami who recently composed the music for the new Fantastic Four film adaptation and previously scored The Wolverine and Hellboy.
‘The Character of Music’ Panel at 2014 Comic-Con Announced
The line-up for this year’s The Character of Music panel at Comic-Con in San Diego has been announced. A number of composers and producers will discuss the dynamics of music in film and television. Panelists include composer Chris Bacon and producer Christopher Nelson (Bates Motel), composer Paul Haslinger and Halt and Catch Fire creator/executive producer Christopher C. Rogers and Danny Jacob and Phineas & Ferb creators/executive producers Dan Povenmire & Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. The participants will discuss their working relationship, how music plays a character in their stories and the intense process of scoring their projects. BMI Director, Film/TV Relations Anne Cecere will serve as panel moderator. The event will take place on Friday, July 25 at 2:00pm in Room 32AB of the San Diego Convention Center.
‘Scoring for Crime, Death and Resurrection’ Composer Panel at Comic-Con Announced
The line-up of the composer panel Behind the Music with CW3PR: Crime, Death and Resurrection at Comic-Con has been announced. The sixth edition of the event will feature a number of film and television composers discussing their work and will also feature surprise sneak peeks from upcoming projects, followed by a fan-led Q&A with exclusive giveaways. Panelists at this year’s panelists include two recent first-time Emmy nominees: Jeff Russo (Hostages) who was nominated for his music for FX’s Fargo and James Levine (Glee, Major Crimes, Nip/Tuck) who received the honor for his music on FX’s American Horror Story. Other participants include Golden Globe nominee Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Deliver Us from Evil), Steve Jablonsky (Transformers series, Ender’s Game), Daniel Licht (Dexter, The Red Road) and Brian Reitzell (Hannibal, 30 Days of Night).
