Film Music Panels at Comic-Con 2016 Announced

comic-conThe line-up for several film music-related panels at Comic-Con 2016 has been announced. On Thursday, July 21, a number of film composers will participate in The 4th Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero. Henry Jackman (Captain America: Civil War & The Winter Soldier, X-Men: First Class), Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Deadpool, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), John Ottman (X2, X-Men: Days of Future Past & Apocalypse) and Blake Neely (The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow) will be participating in a discussion moderated by composer George S. Clinton (Austin Powers, Mortal Kombat). The panel will take place at 11:00am in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton hotel.

On the same day, a number of film/TV composers are set to appear on the panel CW3PR’s 3rd Annual Behind-The-Music: Crime, Death and Resurrection. Participating composers include Jeff Russo (Fargo, Power, Legion), Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, Scream Queens), Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, Salem), Mike Suby (Vampire Diaries, Containment), Bill Brown (Dominion, CSI: NY) and Christopher Drake (Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, Yoga Hosers). The event will take place at 10:00am in Room 25ABC.

On Friday, July 22, Anne Cecere of BMI and Chandler Poling of White Bear PR will moderate the panel I Love That Song! Composing, Singing and Scoring Superhero Style. Among the composers participating are Michael McCuistion (Justice League Unlimited), Lolita Ritmanis (Batman: The Killing Joke) & Kristopher Carter (Batman Beyond) and producer/lyricist James Tucker (Batman: The Brave and the Bold). The panel will take place at 1:00pm in Room 28DE.

On Saturday, July 23, Bear McCreary will explore the creative process of crafting musical worlds on projects such as The Walking Dead, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D in a one-hour panel, that will take place at 3:30pm in Room 8.
