Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the German mini-series Deutschland 89. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Reinhold Heil (Run Lola Run, Cloud Atlas, The International, One Hour Photo, Helix, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer) who previously scored Deutschland 83 and Deutschland 86. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Deutschland 89 is created by Anna Winger & Jörg Winger and stars Jonas Nay, Ari Kurecki, Svenja Jung, Maria Schrader, Sylvester Groth, Uwe Preuss, Carina Wiese, Alexander Beyer and Lavinia Wilson.

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi drama Ad Astra directed by James Gray and starring Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland. The film’s original music is composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Mary Queen of Scots, Hostiles, Waltz with Bashir). Deutsche Grammophon has released a digital single featuring a track of the composer’s score (click here for more details). Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The Lego Batman Movie) is credited as additional music composer (click here to listen to a track from Balfe’s score).
Also opening wide is the action movie Rambo: Last Blood directed by Adrian Grunberg and starring Sylvester Stallone, Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim, Joaquin Cosio and Oscar Jaenada. Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fast & Furious, Crazy Rich Asians) who has previously scored 2008’s Rambo has composed the film’s original music. ‘Deadwood: The Movie’ Soundtrack Details
WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the HBO’s Deadwood: The Movie. The album features the film’s original music composed by Reinhold Heil & Johnny Klimek (Cloud Atlas, The International, Run Lola Run, The International, Perfume: Story of a Murderer) who previously co-scored most episodes of the original Deadwood series. Also included is the main title theme by David Schwartz (Arrested Development, Northern Exposure). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 31 and will be available to download on Amazon. Deadwood: The Movie is directed by Daniel Minhan, written by series creator David Milch and stars Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, Paula Malcomson, John Hawkes, Anna Gunn, Dayton Callie, Brad Dourif, Robin Weigert, William Sanderson, Kim Dickens, Gerald McRaney and Jade Pettyjohn.

Premiering tomorrow, May 27, is the National Geographic limited series The Hot Zone developed by James V. Hart, Jeff Vintar, Kelly Sounders & Brian Peterson and starring Julianna Margulies, Noah Emmerich, Liam Cunningham, Topher Grace, Paul James, Nick Searcy, Robert Wisdom and Robert Sean Leonard. Also premiering tomorrow is the Lifetime original movie Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal directed by Menhaj Huda and starring Charlie Field and Tiffany Smith. Mario Grigorov (Precious, The Paperboy, Flowers in the Attic, Shadowboxer) who previously scored last year’s Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance has composed the film’s original music. The drama follows title characters and their challenges of life inside the Royal Family during their pivotal first year of marriage. BMG has released a soundtrack album for the German TV series Deutschland 86. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed by Golden Globe nominee Reinhold Heil (Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run, The International, One Hour Photo, Berlin Station). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Deutschland 86 is created by Anna Winger & Jörg Winger and stars Jonas Nay, Maria Schrader, Sylvester Groth, Sonja Gerhardt, Ludwig Trepte and Alexander Beyer. The drama is the sequel to 2015’s Deutschland 83 (which Heil also scored) and follows Martin Rauch – Long banished to AFRICA for his sins in 1983 – as he is called back into the field.

Reinhold Heil to Score Epix’s ‘Berlin Station’
Reinhold Heil is currently scoring the upcoming Epix original series Berlin Station. The show is created by Olen Steinhauer and stars Richard Armitage, Michelle Forbes, Richard Jenkins, Rhys Ifans, Tamlyn Tomita, Leland Orser, Richard Dillane and Bernhard Schütz. The movie follows a CIA officer who arrives at the CIA foreign station in Berlin, Germany to determine the identity of a now-famous whistleblower. Michaël Roskam (Bullhead, The Drop) has directed the first two episodes and is also executive producing the project with Steinhauer, showrunner Bradford Winters (Boss, Oz), Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Steve Golin (Spotlight, Mr. Robot), Kerry Kohansky-Roberts (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist), Keith Redmon (The Revenant, Triple 9) and Luke Rivet (Everly).

Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the SundanceTV original series Deutschland 83. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Reinhold Heil (Run Lola Run, Cloud Atlas, Helix, Legends, The International). The soundtrack is now available digitally in Germany and a CD release is set for next month. The album will be released in the U.S. on December 11 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Deutschland 83 is created by Anna & Joerg Winger and stars Jonas Nay, Maria Schrader, Ulrich Noethen, Sylvester Groth, Errol T. Harwood and Sonja Gerhardt. The series follows a 24-year-old East Germany native who is sent to the west as an undercover spy for the Stasi foreign service to gather the secrets of NATO military strategy.
Soundtrack Details for Syfy’s ‘Helix’ Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the Syfy original series Helix. The album features selections from the original score from the show’s two seasons composed by Reinhold Heil (One Hour Photo, Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run, Legends, The International). The label will release the album as a 2 CD-set, which is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Also visit La-La Land’s website to check out audio clips. Madison Gate Records will release the album digitally. Helix is created by Cameron Porsandeh and stars Billy Campbell, Hiroyuki Sanada, Kyra Zagorsky, Jordan Hayes, Catherine Lemieux, Neil Napier and Mark Ghanime. The show about a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak premiered last year on Syfy and a second season aired earlier this year.
