Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Eddie the Eagle, Rings, Truth or Dare) has recently scored the fifth episode of the Hulu anthology series Into the Dark. The episode, entitled Down, is directed by Daniel Stamm (The Last Exorcism, 13 Sins) and stars Natalie Martinez, Matt Lauria, Arnie Pantoja, Diane Sellers, and Christina Leone. The episode written by Kent Kubena follows a pair of office of workers who get trapped in an elevator over a long Valentine’s Day weekend.

Premiering tonight is the National Geographic original series Valley of the Boom created by Matthew Carnahan and starring Bradley Whitford, Steve Zahn, Lamorne Morris, John Karna, Dakota Shapiro and Oliver Cooper. The show’s original music is composed by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (Stranger Things, Butterfly, Native Son). Premiering tomorrow, January 14, is the Fox drama The Passage developed by Liz Heldens based on Justin Cronin’s book series and starring Saniyya Sidney, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Caroline Chikezie, Henry Ian Cusick, Vincent Piazza and Emmanuelle Chriqui. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of) and Jordan Gagne (The Rookie, Waco) are composing the show’s original music. Bear McCreary Scoring Nacho Vigalondo-Directed ‘Into the Dark’ Episode ‘Pooka!’
Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Outlander, Battlestar Galactica) has composed the music for the third episode of the Hulu anthology series Into the Dark. The episode, entitled Pooka!, is directed by Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes) and stars Nyasha Hatendi, Latarsha Rose, Jon Daly, Dale Dickey, Jonny Berryman and Diane Sellers. The Christmas-themed episode follows an actor who is hired to play a life-size version of the holiday’s hottest toy: the pooka doll. Vigalondo is also executive producing the Blumhouse Television production with Jason Blum (Get Out, Halloween), John Hegeman, Gerard Olson (who also wrote the script), Nahikari Ipina and Alexa Faigen.
Blake Neely Scoring Ryan White’s ‘Ask Dr. Ruth’
Composer Blake Neely is reteaming with director Ryan White on the upcoming documentary Ask Dr. Ruth. The film chronicles the incredible life of Dr. Ruth Westheimer, a Holocaust survivor who became America’s most famous sex therapist, as she revisits her painful past and her career at the forefront of the sexual revolution. White is also producing the project with Rafael Marmor, Jessica Hargrave and Christopher Leggett (Becoming Bond). Neely and White have previously collaborated on 2014’s The Case Against 8 and last year’s Netflix docu-series The Keepers.

Premiering tonight is the 11th season of BBC’s Doctor Who executive produced by Chris Chibnall, Matt Strevens & Sam Hoyle and starring Jodie Whittaker, Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill and Bradley Walsh. Soundtrack Album for Hulu’s ‘The First’ to Be Released
New Deal and Record Collection will release the first soundtrack album for the Hulu original series The First. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Colin Stetson (Hereditary, Blue Caprice, Lavender, Outlaws and Angels). The Vol. 1 soundtrack will be released digitally on September 28, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The First is created by Beau Willimon and stars Sean Penn, Natascha McElhone, LisaGay Hamilton, Oded Fehr, James Ransone and Hannah Ware. The drama follows the first human mission to Mars and explores the challenges of taking the first steps toward interplanetary colonization, from the perspectives of the the astronauts, their families and loved ones, as well as the ground team on Earth.

Hulu’s ‘Into the Dark’ to Feature Music by The Newton Brothers & Michael Wandmacher
The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Ouija: Origin of Evil) have composed the music for the first episode of the upcoming Hulu horror anthology series Into the Dark. The episode, entitled The Body, is directed by Paul Davis and stars Tom Bateman, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Aurora Perrineau, David Hull and Ray Santiago. The Body is set in the selfie culture of Los Angeles on Halloween night and follows a sophisticated, overconfident hitman who always carries out his work in style and decides to take things even further one day by transporting his latest victim in plain sight. Michael Wandmacher (Underworld: Blood Wars, Piranha 3D) is scoring the show’s second episode, Flesh & Blood, directed by Patrick Lussier (Dracula 2000) and starring Dermot Mulroney, Diana Silvers and Tembi Locke.
