Premiering tonight is the National Geographic original series Valley of the Boom created by Matthew Carnahan and starring Bradley Whitford, Steve Zahn, Lamorne Morris, John Karna, Dakota Shapiro and Oliver Cooper. Premiering tomorrow, January 14, is the Fox drama The Passage developed by Liz Heldens based on Justin Cronin’s book series and starring Saniyya Sidney, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Caroline Chikezie, Henry Ian Cusick, Vincent Piazza and Emmanuelle Chriqui. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of) and Jordan Gagne (The Rookie, Waco) are composing the show’s original music. Premiering on Tuesday, January 15 is the new CW drama Roswell, New Mexico developed by Carina Adly MacKenzie based on Melinda Metz’s Roswell High book series and starring Jeanine Mason, Nathan Parsons, Tyler Blackburn, Lily Cowles, Michael Vlamis and Heather Hemmens. The show’s original music is composed by Michael Suby (The Vampire Diaries, The Butterfly Effect, Pretty Little Liars) & Dennis Smith (Six, Lucifer). Premiering on Wednesday, January 16 is the Syfy original series Deadly Class developed by Rick Remender & Miles Orion Feldsott based on Remender’s graphic novel and starring Benjamin Wadsworth, Benedict Wong, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval. Also premiering on Wednesday is the YouTube Premium original series Wayne created by Shawn Simmons and starring Mark McKenna and Ciara Bravo. The show’s original music is composed by Steven Argila (Max Steel, There’s…Johnny!, Basmati Blues). The action comedy executive produced by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Greg Coolidge & Kirk Ward centers on a 15-year-old teenager who sets out on a dirt bike with his new crush to take back the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am that was stolen from his father before he died. The show’s full first season will be available to stream on Wednesday on YouTube Premium.

Premiering on Thursday, January 17 in the U.S. is the fantasy drama A Discovery of Witches based on Deborah Harkness’ novel of the same title and starring Teresa Palmer, Matthew Goode, Alex Kingston, Valarie Pettiford, Lindsay Duncan and Tanya Moodie. Rob Lane (John AdamsMerlinAtlantisThe Damned UnitedBeowulf) is composing the show’s original music. Premiering on Friday, January 18 is the Netflix original movie IO directed by Jonathan Helpert and starring Margaret Qualley, Anthony Mackie and Danny Huston. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Wreck-It-Ralph, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) & Alex Belcher. The sci-fi thriller follows a young scientist who searches for a way to save a dying Earth and finds a connection with a man who’s racing to catch the last shuttle off the planet. The movie will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

Also premiering on Friday is the Netflix original movie Close co-written and directed by Vicky Jewson and starring Noomi Rapace, Sophie Nélisse and Indira Varma. Marc Canham (The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Final Girl) has composed the film’s original music. The action thriller centers on a battle-hardened bodyguard who scrambles to save her client when attackers target the heiress she’s protecting. The movie will be available to stream on Friday exclusively on Netflix.

Premiering in the U.S. on Friday is the British mini-series Butterfly created by Tony Marchant and starring Anna Friel, Emmett J. Scanlan, Alison Steadman, Sean McGinley and Callum Booth-Ford. The show’s original music is composed by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (Stranger Things, Valley of the Boom).
