Milan Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Hulu original series Harlots. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Rael Jones (Suite Francaise, My Cousin Rachel, Kids in Love). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Silva Screen Records has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the first season. Harlots is created by Moira Buffini & Alison Newman and stars Samantha Morton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lesley Manville, Eloise Smyth, Dorothy Atkinson, Pippa Bennett-Warner and Sebastian Armesto and Liv Tyler.

Pieter Schlosser Scoring Hulu’s ‘Light as a Feather’
Pieter Schlosser (Destiny 2, The Lying Game, You, Me and the Apocalypse) is the composer of the upcoming supernatural thriller series Light as a Feather. The show is created by R. Lee Fleming Jr. and stars Liana Liberato, Haley Ramm, Ajiona Alexus, Brianne Tju and Peyton List. The series follows five teen girls as they deal with the supernatural fallout stemming from an innocent game of “Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board.”
Hulu’s ‘The First’ to Feature Original Score by Colin Stetson
Colin Stetson is scoring the upcoming Hulu original series The First. The show is created by Beau Willimon (House of Cards, The Ides of March) and stars Sean Penn, Natascha McElhone, LisaGay Hamilton, Oded Fehr, James Ransone and Hannah Ware. The drama follows the first human mission to Mars and explores the challenges of taking the first steps toward interplanetary colonization, from the perspectives of the the astronauts, their families and loved ones, as well as the ground team on Earth.

Premiering on Wednesday, July 25, is the Hulu original series Castle Rock developed by Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason and starring André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn. Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty Finding Nemo) has composed the show’s main titles theme, as well as the first two episodes and Chris Westlake (Before We Go, Small Town Crime) has scored the other eight episodes of the first season. Also premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday is the Canadian legal drama Burden of Truth created by Brad Simpson and starring Kristin Kreuk, Peter Mooney, Star Slade, Nicola Correia-Damude and David Lawrence Brown. The show’s original music is composed by Ian LeFeuvre (The Detail, Carter) and Benjamin Pinkerton (Lost Girl, Dark Matter). Jody Colero serves as the project’s score producer and Shawn Pierce (The Bridge, Motive) has provided additional score to a few episodes. The series, which follows a big city lawyer who returns to her hometown to take the case of a group of girls suffering from a mysterious illness, aired earlier this year in Canada on CBC and is premiering stateside on The CW.

Chris Westlake (Before We Go, Small Town Crime) is the composer of the other eight episodes of the show’s first season. The psychological horror drama is set in the Stephen King multiverse and takes place in the fictional Maine town of Castle Rock, which has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption.

The series, which follows detective who seeks to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that every day slips closer to certain destruction, premiered in January in the UK on BBC One and is making its U.S. debut on Wednesday on Hulu.
Also premiering on Wednesday is the new CW comedy drama Life Sentence created by Erin Cardillo & Richard Keith and starring Lucy Hale, Carlos PenaVega, Elliot Knight, Dylan Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Jayson Blair and Brooke Lyons. The composing duo of WAZ-Jackson (Cougar Town, Surviving Jack) is composing the show’s original music. The series follows a young woman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying”.
