The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Ouja: Origin of Evil, Life of Crime, Detachment) and Callaghan Belle have written the original end titles song for the sci-fi thriller Extinction. JoJo is featured as a vocalist on the track. The song is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. Extinction is directed by Ben Young and stars Michael Peña, Lizzy Caplan, Mike Colter, Lilly Aspell, Emma Booth and Israel Broussard. The movie revolves around family man plagued by dreams of an alien invasion who faces his worst nightmare when an extraterrestrial force begins exterminating Earth’s inhabitants.

Weekly TV Music Roundup (July 22, 2018)
Premiering on Wednesday, July 25, is the Hulu original series Castle Rock developed by Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason and starring André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn. Thomas Newman (The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty Finding Nemo) has composed the show’s main titles theme, as well as the first two episodes and Chris Westlake (Before We Go, Small Town Crime) has scored the other eight episodes of the first season. WaterTower Music has released Newman’s main theme and end titles music this past Friday. Check out our previous article for more information.
Also premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday is the Canadian legal drama Burden of Truth created by Brad Simpson and starring Kristin Kreuk, Peter Mooney, Star Slade, Nicola Correia-Damude and David Lawrence Brown. The show’s original music is composed by Ian LeFeuvre (The Detail, Carter) and Benjamin Pinkerton (Lost Girl, Dark Matter). Jody Colero serves as the project’s score producer and Shawn Pierce (The Bridge, Motive) has provided additional score to a few episodes. The series, which follows a big city lawyer who returns to her hometown to take the case of a group of girls suffering from a mysterious illness, aired earlier this year in Canada on CBC and is premiering stateside on The CW.

The Newton Brothers are currently scoring the upcoming sci-fi thriller Extinction. The film is directed by Ben Young (Hounds of Love) and stars Michael Peña, Lizzy Caplan, Mike Colter, Lilly Aspell, Emma Booth and Israel Broussard. The movie follows a father who suffers from a recurring dream about the loss of his family while witnessing the force bent on destruction. Eric Heisserer (Arrival, Lights Out), Spenser Cohen and Bradley Caleb Kane (Black Sails) wrote the screenplay. Todd Lieberman & David Hoberman (Beauty and the Beast, The Fighter, The Proposal) are producing the project for Mandeville Films.
‘Extinction’ Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the post-apocalyptic horror thriller Extinction. The album features the film’s original music composed by Sergio Moure De Oteyza (Cargo, Kidnapped). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 14, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Extinction is directed by Miguel Ángel Vivas and stars Matthew Fox, Jeffrey Donovan, Quinn McColgan, Valeria Vereau and Clara Lago. The movie produced by Jaume Collet-Serra (Non-Stop, Unknown) follows two men and a young girl living in a remote village who remain untouched by a worldwide infection that turns survivors into beasts.
