Cantaloupe Music has released a soundtrack album for the romantic drama Three Birthdays. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Lang (Wildlife, Youth, I Am the Night). Three Birthdays is written and directed by Jane Weinstock and stars Josh Radnor, Annie Parisse, Nuala Cleary, Uly Schlesinger, Jasmine Batchelor and Gus Birney. The movie is set in 1970 at the height of the sexual revolution and follows an idealistic academic couple and their 17-year-old daughter as they wrestle with revolutionary ideas around sex, race, and class.

Premiering tonight is the Fox Live television event Rent executive produced by Marc Platt based on Jonathan Larson’s stage musical of the same title and starring Vanessa Hudgens, Brandon Victor Dixon, Mario, Tinashe, Kiersey Clemons, Jordan Fisher, Brennin Hunt and Valentina. Masterworks Broadway will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the TV special. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Patriots Day) have composed the film’s original score. David Lang to Score TNT’s ‘One Day She’ll Darken’
David Lang has been tapped to score the upcoming TNT limited series One Day She’ll Darken. The show is created by Sam Sheridan and stars Chris Pine, Leland Orser, India Eisley, Connie Nielsen, Jefferson Mays, Yul Vazquez, Justin Cornwell, Dylan Smith, Jay Paulson and Golden Brooks. The 6-parter tells the story of Fauna Hodel who was given away at birth. As she begins to investigate the secrets to her past, she follows a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery. Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman, Monster) is directing the first three episodes and is also executive producing the project with Sheridan, Pine, Michael Sugar (Spotlight, 13 Reasons Why) and Carl Franklin (Out of Time, One True Thing).
David Lang Scoring Paul Dano’s ‘Wildlife’
David Lang has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama Wildlife. The film marks the directorial debut of actor Paul Dano and stars Carey Mulligan, Ed Oxenbould, Bill Camp and Jake Gyllenhaal. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Richard Ford is set in 1960 Montana and revolves around a boy who witnesses his parent’s marriage falling apart after his mom finds another man. Dano also co-wrote the screenplay with Zoe Kazan. Gyllenhaal is also producing the project with Andrew Duncan & Alex Saks (The Florida Project), Oren Moverman (The Messenger, Rampart), Ann Ruark (The Beaver) and Riva Marker (Beasts of No Nation, Hello, My Name Is Doris).

Soundtrack Details for Paolo Sorrentino’s ‘Youth’ Announced
The details of the soundtrack album for Paolo Sorrentino’s drama Youth have been revealed. The album features the music from the film by artists including Mark Kozelek, Sun Kil Moon, Paloma Faith, David Byrne, Bill Callahan, The Retrosettes Sister Band & more. Also included is a track from the film’s original score written by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang whose music has previously been featured in Sorrentino’s last movie The Great Beauty. The soundtrack will be released overseas on May 26, 2015 and is now available for pre-order as an import on Amazon. Milan Records will release a soundtrack stateside in December (click here to order). Youth starring Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz, Paul Dano and Jane Fonda.
