The only new movie opening nationwide this weekend is the slasher thriller Halloween co-written and directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner and Nick Castle. The film’s original music is composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. Sacred Bones Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Opening in limited release is the coming-of-age comedy drama Mid90s written and directed by Jonah Hill and starring Sunny Suljic, Lucas Hedges, Na-kel Smith, Gio Galicia, Ryder McLaughlin, Alexa Demie, Katherine Waterston and Olan Prenatt. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Patriots Day) have composed the film’s original score. Music.Film Recordings and Varèse Sarabande Records have announced a soundtrack album for the drama What They Had. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Mulhern. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 19, 2018 and will be available to download on Amazon. Listen to two full tracks from the score after the jump. Danny Mulhern has recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama What They Had. The film is written and directed by Elizabeth Chomko and stars Hilary Swank, Michael Shannon, Blythe Danner, Robert Forster, Taissa Farmiga and Josh Lucas. The movie follows a woman who returns home to Chicago at her brother’s urging to deal with her mother’s Alzheimer’s and her father’s reluctance to let go of their life together. Keith Kjarval (A Single Shot, Rudderless), Bill Holderman (A Walk in the Woods, The Company You Keep), Albert Berger (Little Miss Sunshine, Cold Mountain), Ron Yerxa (Nebraska, Election, Little Children), Alex Saks & Andrew Duncan (The Florida Project) and Tyler Jackson are producing the project.
