Jeff Cardoni has been hired to score the upcoming Netflix original series The Kominsky Method. The show is created by Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men) and stars Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin, Nancy Travis, Sarah Baker, Susan Sullivan, Emily Osment, Graham Rogers, Ashleigh LaThrop, Jenna Lyng Adams, Melissa Tang and Casey Brown. The comedy revolves around an actor who years ago had a brief fling with success and is now a revered Hollywood acting coach. Lorre and Douglas are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production.

Nathaniel Mechaly Scoring Netflix’s ‘November 13’ & ‘O.G.’
Nathaniel Mechaly is scoring the upcoming Netflix docu-series November 13. The 3-parter is directed by Jules & Gédéon Naudet (9/11) and explores the human stories behind the terrorist attacks that took place in Paris on November 13th, 2015. The documentary will share testimonies of the people brought together by tragedy, from the survivors, the fire department, the Police and the leaders of the French government including French President at the time of the events, François Hollande. The Naudet brothers are also executive producing the project with Propagate’s Ben Silverman & Howard T. Owens.
Jeff Russo Scoring ‘Santa Clarita Diet’ Season 2
Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, Legion, Snowfall, The Night Of) is the new composer of the Netflix original series Santa Clarita Diet. The composer has scored the second season of the show created by Victor Fresco and starring Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Liv Hewson and Skyler Gisondo. The comedy follows a married couple leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita with their teenage daughter until the wife goes through a dramatic change sending their lives down a road of death and destruction.

Premiering tonight is the new CBS drama Instinct created by Michael Rauch and starring Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews and Sharon Leal. The show’s original music is composed by James S. Levine (Glee, Nip/Tuck, Damages, Star, The Last Ship, Bloodline, Major Crimes). Soundtrack Album for ‘Jessica Jones’ Season 2 to Be Released
Marvel Music and Hollywood Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Jessica Jones. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Sean Callery (24, Homeland, Marvel’s Inhumans, Designated Survivor, Bones), as well as a new version of the composer’s main title theme, for which he received his fourth Emmy Award in 2016. Also included is the song I Want Your Cray Cray performed by Rachel Taylor & Kandi Marks. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 16 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score from the first season.
Ryan Elder & Ben Bromfield Scoring DreamWorks Animation’s ‘The Boss Baby: Back in Business’
Ryan Elder (Rick and Morty, Harmontown) and Ben Bromfield are scoring DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming Netflix series The Boss Baby: Back in Business. The show is based on last year’s Academy Award-nominated animated feature (scored by Hans Zimmer & Steve Mazzaro) and features the voices of JP Karliak, Pierce Gagnon and Kevin Michael Richardson. The series follows the title character as he tries to balance family life with his job at Baby Corp headquarters. Brandon Sawyer (Penguins of Madagascar) is executive producing the project.

Soundtrack Album for Netflix/BBC Series ‘Troy: Fall of a City’ to Be Released
Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the BBC and Netflix mini-series Troy: Fall of a City. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (Maniac, Horns, Populaire, Every Secret Thing, Amityville: The Awakening). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 16, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is coming out overseas a few weeks later and will be available to order as an import here. Troy: Fall of a City is created by David Farr (The Night Manager, Hanna) and stars Louis Hunter, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Christian Schoombie, David Gysai, David Threlfall, Lex King, Bella Dayne and Frances O’Connor.

Premiering on Wednesday, March 7, in the U.S. is the crime drama series Hard Sun created by Neil Cross and starring Agyness Deyn, Jim Sturgess and Nikki Amuka-Bird. The show’s original music is composed by Neil Davidge (Unleashed, Push, Monsters: Dark Continent, Britannia, Good People). The series, which follows detective who seeks to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that every day slips closer to certain destruction, premiered in January in the UK on BBC One and is making its U.S. debut on Wednesday on Hulu.
Also premiering on Wednesday is the new CW comedy drama Life Sentence created by Erin Cardillo & Richard Keith and starring Lucy Hale, Carlos PenaVega, Elliot Knight, Dylan Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Jayson Blair and Brooke Lyons. The composing duo of WAZ-Jackson (Cougar Town, Surviving Jack) is composing the show’s original music. The series follows a young woman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying”.
