Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix and BBC limited series Collateral. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Ruth Barrett (Harry Brown, Victoria, Hunted, Love, Nina). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Collateral is created by David Hare, directed by S.J. Clarkson and stars Carey Mulligan, John Simm, Nicola Walker and Billie Piper. The 4-parter thriller is set over four days in present-day London and explores the spiraling consequences of the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man.

Premiering on Wednesday, March 7, in the U.S. is the crime drama series Hard Sun created by Neil Cross and starring Agyness Deyn, Jim Sturgess and Nikki Amuka-Bird. The show’s original music is composed by Neil Davidge (Unleashed, Push, Monsters: Dark Continent, Britannia, Good People). The series, which follows detective who seeks to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that every day slips closer to certain destruction, premiered in January in the UK on BBC One and is making its U.S. debut on Wednesday on Hulu.
Also premiering on Wednesday is the new CW comedy drama Life Sentence created by Erin Cardillo & Richard Keith and starring Lucy Hale, Carlos PenaVega, Elliot Knight, Dylan Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Jayson Blair and Brooke Lyons. The composing duo of WAZ-Jackson (Cougar Town, Surviving Jack) is composing the show’s original music. The series follows a young woman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying”. Ruth Barrett to Score BBC’s ‘Collateral’
Ruth Barrett has been tapped to score the upcoming BBC mini-series Collateral. The show is created by David Hare (The Hours, The Reader, Denial) and stars Carey Mulligan, John Simm, Nicola Walker and Billie Piper. The 4-parter thriller is set over four days in present-day London and explores the spiraling consequences of the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man. S.J. Clarkson who previously collaborated with Barrett on last year’s Love, Nina is directing all episodes. He is also executive producing the project with Hare, George Faber & Mark Pybus for The Forge and Lucy Richer for the BBC.
James Newton Howard’s ‘Collateral’ Score to Be Released
Intrada Records has announced the first release of the complete score for the 2004 thriller Collateral directed by Michael Mann and starring Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith and Mark Ruffalo. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, The Hunger Games, The Fugitive, King Kong), including tracks not used in the final version of the movies, as well as alternate cues. The previous soundtrack album released by RCA Records only featured four short scores tracks in addition to the songs from the film.
