Premiering on Wednesday, July 12, is the second season of the Apple TV+ original series The Afterparty created by Chris Miller & Phil Lord and starring Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, John Cho, Ken Jeong, Paul Walter Hauser, Anna Konkle, Elizabeth Perkins, Poppy Liu, Jack Whitehall, Vivian Wu and Zach Woods. David Schweitzer (Emma, Our Great National Parks,Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King) has joined Daniel Pemberton (who composed the music for the first season) to co-score the second season of the mystery comedy, which will be available to stream on Apple TV+.

Premiering on Thursday, July 13, is the Max limited series Full Circle written by Ed Solomon, directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Zazie Beetz, Claire Danes, Jim Gaffigan, Timothy Olyphant, Jharrel Jerome, CCH Pounder, Adia, Phaldut Sharma, Sheyi Cole, Suzanne Savoy, Gerald Jones, Ethan Stoddard, Lucian Zanes and Dennis Quaid. Zack Ryan (I Smile Back, Malibu Rescue, A Christmas Prince) has composed the show’s original music. Haim Mazar (The Iceman, Sneakerheads, Woke, The Taking of Deborah Logan, I Am Wrath) has been tapped to score the upcoming southern noir thriller Desperation Road. The film is directed by Nadine Crocker and stars Garrett Hedlund, Mel Gibson, Willa Fitzgerald, Ryan Hurst, Kat Foster, Woody McClain and Pyper Braun. The movie follows an ex-con who attempts to rebuild his life with help from his father, but when a young woman arrives and throws his life into chaos, the pair end up on the run.

Haim Mazar to Score Michael Tiddes’ ‘Half Baked 2’

Haim Mazar (The Iceman, Sneakerheads, The Taking of Deborah Logan, Woke, I Am Wrath) has been hired to score the upcoming comedy sequel Half Baked 2. The film is directed by Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House, Naked) and stars Rachel True who reprises her role as Mary Jane from the original 1998 movie (scored by Alf Clausen), as well as Dexter Darden, Moses Storm, Ramona Young, Joel Courtney, Ash Santos and David Koechner. The movie follows Thurgood Jenkins’ son and his best friends as they search for the money to bury their other best friend who died from smoking the most powerful joint in the world.

Soundtrack Album for Hulu’s ‘Woke’ to Be Released

Madison Gate Records will release the first soundtrack album for the Hulu original series Woke. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Haim Mazar (The Iceman, Sneakerheads, The Taking of Deborah Logan, I Am Wrath). Also included is the Woke main title theme by Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57 , Undercover Brother, The Transporter). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 8. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the soundtrack. Woke is created by Keith Knight & Marshall Todd and stars Lamorne Morris, Blake Anderson, Rose McIver, T. Murph and Sasheer Zamata.

Maya Records has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Sneakerheads. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Haim Mazar (The Iceman, The Taking of Deborah Logan, I Am Wrath) . The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, Apple Music and Spotify. Sneakerheads is created by Jay Longino and stars Allen Maldonado, Andrew Bachelor, Yaani King Mondschein, Jearnest Corchado, Matthew Josten, Justin Lee and Aja Evans. The comedy produced by Complex Networks follows a former sneakerhead turned stay-at-home dad as he gets back in the game only to quickly find himself five G’s in the hole after falling for one of old friend’s get-rich-quick schemes.

Young, Olivia Macklin and Steve Harris. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Toyne (Rogue, Dirty Girl, 9/11, Hot Bot, You Me Her). Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

money-monsterOpening in most theaters is the dramatic thriller Money Monster directed by Jodie Foster and starring George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Jack O’Connell, Dominic West, Giancarlo Esposito and Caitriona Balfe. The film’s original score is composed by Dominic Lewis (The Man in the High Castle, Free Birds) and produced by Henry Jackman. No soundtrack album has been announced. The Darkness (previously entitled 6 Miranda Drive) follows two families who return from a summer camping trip in the Grand Canyon with a supernatural presence in tow. criminalHaim Mazar has signed on to score the upcoming action thriller Criminal. The film is directed by Ariel Vromen and stars Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Ryan Reynolds, Alice Eve and Gal Gadot. The movie revolves around a dangerous criminal who has the memories and skills of a dead CIA agent implanted into his brain in order to track down and stop an international terrorist. Douglas Cook & David Weisberg (The Rock, Double Jeopardy) have written the screenplay. Chris Bender (The Butterfly Effect, We’re the Millers), J.C. Spink (A History of Violence), Mark Gill (Olympus Has Fallen) and Matt O’Toole (Before I Go to Sleep) are producing the project.
