Madison Gate Records will release the first soundtrack album for the Hulu original series Woke. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Haim Mazar (The Iceman, Sneakerheads, The Taking of Deborah Logan, I Am Wrath). Also included is the Woke main title theme by Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57 , Undercover Brother, The Transporter). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 8. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the soundtrack. Woke is created by Keith Knight & Marshall Todd and stars Lamorne Morris, Blake Anderson, Rose McIver, T. Premiering tonight is the Starz original series Power Book II: Ghost created by Courtney A. Kemp and starring Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, Mary J. Blige, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Daniel Bellomy, Paige Hurd,” Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo and Melanie Liburd. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, The Night Of, Legion, The Umbrella Academy) who previously scored all episodes of the original Power series. Premiering tomorrow, September 7 is DreamWorks Animation’s new TV series Madagascar: A Little Wild executive produced by Johanna Stein & Dana Starfield and starring Tucker Chandler, Amir O’Neil, Shaylin Becton, Luke Lowe, Jasmine Gatewood and Eric Petersen. Frederik Wiedmann (The Dragon Prince, The Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hangman) who has previously scored DreamWorks Animation TV’s All Hail King Julien is composing the show’s original music. The series, which follows young versions of Alex, Marty, Gloria & Melman from the Madagascar franchise, as they grow up in New York City, will be available to stream on Hulu and Peacock.
‘Undercover Brother 2’ Soundtrack Details
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the comedy seqeul Undercover Brother 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57, The Transporter, Romeo Must Die) who previously scored the 2002 original movie. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon Music, where you can also check out audio samples. Undercover Brother 2 is directed by Leslie Small and stars Michael Jai White, Gary Owen, Affion Crockett, Laila Odom, Steven Lee Johnson, Bruce Bruce, Barry Bostwick and Vince Swann. The comedy will be released on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD on November 5 by Universal Home Entertainment.
‘Halston’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Node Records has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Halston. The album features the film’s original music composed by Grammy Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, The Transporter, Passenger 57, Romeo Must Die, Undercover Brother). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 7 and will be available to download here. A CD version is set to come out on July 26 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Halston is directed by Frédéric Tcheng and tells the story of America’s first superstar designer who rose to international fame in the 1970s, creating an empire and personifying the dramatic social and sexual revolution of the last century.

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban, Nasim Pedrad, Billy Magnussen and Numan Acar. The film’s original score is composed by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as all songs from movie, including a new song written by Menken and featuring lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. Also opening wide is the coming-of-age comedy Booksmart directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, Jessica Williams, Will Forte, Lisa Kudrow and Jason Sudeikis. Stanley Clarke Scoring Frédéric Tcheng’s ‘Halston’
Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57, The Transporter, The Best Man) is composing the original score for the upcoming documentary Halston. The film is directed by Frédéric Tcheng (Dior and I, Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel) and tells the story of America’s first superstar fashion designer. The movie uncovers the cautionary tale of an artist who sold his name to Wall Street and was responsible for many iconic moments in American fashion and culture in the ’70s and ’80s.

Sony Classical will release a score album for the comedy sequel Barbershop: The Next Cut. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stanley Clarke (Passenger 57, The Transporter, Boyz n the Hood, The Best Man Holiday, Undercover Brother). The soundtrack will be released on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, Atlantic Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. Barbershop: The Next Cut is directed by Malcolm D. Lee and stars Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Eve, Nicki Minaj, Common and JB Smoove. The third part in the Barbershop series, which follows Eddie and his longtime crew whose once male-dominated sanctuary is now co-ed, is being released nationwide today by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Lee (Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins) and stars Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Eve, Nicki Minaj, Common and JB Smoove. The third installment in the Barbershop series takes place 10 years after the last part and follows Eddie and his longtime crew whose once male-dominated sanctuary is now co-ed. Kenya Barris (Black-ish) and Tracy Oliver have written the screenplay.
Steven Price, Steve Jablonsky, Stanley Clarke & Pharrell Williams Invited to Join the Academy
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 271 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. Among the invited artists this year a number of film composers, including Steven Price (The World’s End, Attack the Block) who received his first Academy Award this year for Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity, Steve Jablonsky who is best known for his collaborations with Michael Bay, including the Transformers movies, as well as films such as Ender’s Game, Battleship and Gangster Squad, Stanley Clarke who scored such movies as Passenger 57, The Best Man Holiday and Boyz N the Hood and Buck Sanders (Warm Bodies) who received an Oscar nomination for The Hurt Locker.
