Opening in theaters nationwide is the psychological thriller Speak No Evil directed by James Watkins and starring James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy, Alix West Lefler, Aisling Franciosi and Daniel Hough. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, Enemy, The Outsider, Fear the Walking Dead, The Devil All the Time, The Staircase, The White Tiger, Boy Erased, Tokyo Vice). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Also opening wide today is the action comedy The Killer’s Game  directed by JJ Perry and starring Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, Scott Adkins, Pom Klementieff, Terry Crews and Ben Kingsley. Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, In the Heart of the Sea, Evil Dead, Sexy Beast, The Machinist, The Commuter, The Girl in the Spider’s Web) has composed the film’s original music. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror movie The Exorcist: Believer co-written and directed by David Gordon Green and starring Leslie Odom, Jr., Jennifer Nettles, Ann Dowd, Norbert Leo Butz, Olivia Marcus, Lidya Jewett, and Ellen Burstyn. The film’s original music is composed by David Wingo (Mud, Take Shelter, Barry, The Report, Midnight Special, Loving) and Amman Abbasi (Dayveon). Opening semi-wide in several hundred theaters is the romantic comedy She Came to Me written and directed by Rebecca Miller and starring Peter Dinklage, Marisa Tomei, Anne Hathaway, Joanna Kulig and Brian d’Arcy James. Bryce Dessner (Cyrano, The Two Popes, Bardo, A Good Person, The Kitchen, Irresistible) has composed the film’s original score. Warner Classics has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original score by Bruce Springsteen last week. Showtime has released two soundtracks for the musical episode of the Showtime original series The L Word: Generation Q. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is a 6-track EP featuring the songs from the sixth episode episode of the show’s third season written by series composers Heather McIntosh (Compliance, The Art of Self-Defense, Z for Zachariah) & Allyson Newman (Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound, Kusama: Infinity) and Academy Award-nominated songwriter Taura Stinson and performed by members of the show’s cast (also listen to all songs below). Available separately is an album featuring the original score from the episode composed by McIntosh & Newman.

Heather McIntosh (Compliance, The Art of Self-Defense, Z for Zachariah, Partner Track, The Quarry) has composed the original music for the upcoming psychological thriller Cat Person. The film is directed by Susanna Fogel (The Spy Who Dumped Me, Life Partners) and stars Emilia Jones, Nicholas Braun, Geraldine Viswanathan, Hope Davis, Fred Melamed and Isabella Rossellini. The movie is based on a short story by Kristen Roupenian and centers on the brief relationship between a college student working concessions at an arthouse theater and an older frequent moviegoer at the theater. Michelle Ashford (Operation Mincemeat, Masters of Sex) wrote the screenplay.

Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Partner Track’ to Be Released

Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original series Partner Track. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Heather McIntosh (Compliance, Z for Zachariah, The Art of Self-Defense, The Quarry) & Allyson Newman (Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound, The L Word: Generation Q, Kusama: Infinity). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 26 and will be available to stream/download here. Partner Track is developed by Georgia Lee based on the novel by Helen Wan and stars Arden Cho, Alexandra Turshen, Dominic Sherwood, Bradley Gibson, Nolan Gerard Funk, Rob Heaps, Matthew Rauch and Roby Attal.

Premiering tonight is the HBO original series House of the Dragon created by George R.R. Martin & Ryan Condal and starring Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best and Rhys Ifans. The show’s original music is composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Westworld, Eternals, Pacific Rim, Uncharted). WaterTower Music has released a first track from the composer’s score this past Thursday. Click here to listen to the track and to learn more about the fantasy drama, which will air Sundays on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, August 22, is the British miniseries Anne written by Kevin Sampson and starring Maxine Peake, Stephen Walters, Lily Shepherd, Steve Williams, Bobby Schofield and Clare Calbraith. Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Domina, The Spanish Princess, The Halcyon, Home Fires) has composed the show’s original music. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action comedy Bullet Train directed by David Leitch and starring Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sandra Bullock, Andrew Koji, Brian Tyree Henry and Michael Shannon. The film’s original score is composed by Dominic Lewis (The Man in the High Castle, Peter Rabbit, Money Monster, The King’s Man) who also co-wrote and produced several of the songs from the movie. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the full album details) and Arista Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the Sony Pictures production (click here for more information).

Also opening wide is the comedy Easter Sunday directed by Jay Chandrasekhar and starring Jo Koy, Jimmy O. Yang, Tia Carrere, Eva Noblezada, Brandon Wardell, Tiffany Haddish and Lou Diamond Phillips. Dan the Automator (Booksmart, Control, Holidate) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Heather McIntosh (Compliance, The Art of Self-Defense, Z for Zachariah, The Quarry) & Allyson Newman (Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound, This Thing with Sarah, Kusama: Infinity) have teamed up to score the upcoming Netflix original series Partner Track. The show is developed by Georgia Lee (Red Doors) based on the novel by Helen Wan and stars Arden Cho, Alexandra Turshen, Bradley Gibson, Dominic Sherwood, Rob Heaps, Nolan Gerard Funk, Matthew Rauch and Roby Attal. The drama revolves around a 1st generation Korean American and the first lawyer in her family as she experiences the trials and tribulations of excelling at a prestigious law firm and her goal of making partner.

‘Claydream’ Soundtrack Album Released

Oscilloscope Laboratories has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Claydream. The album features the film’s original score composed by Heather McIntosh (The Art of Self-Defense, Compliance, Z for Zachariah, The L Word: Generation Q, The Quarry, 6 Balloons). Also included is Isaac Brock’s cover of I Heard It Through the Grapevine and Grandaddy’s song R I P Coyote Condo #5. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download the soundtrack. Claydream is directed by Marq Evans and charts the rise and fall of the Oscar- and Emmy-winning Will Vinton Studios and its founder who revolutionized the animation business during the 1980s and 90s, creating such iconic characters as the California Raisins and Domino’s The Noid.
