Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the British TV series The Undeclared War. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Grammy Award winner Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, Romeo + Juliet, Love Actually,The Great Gatsby, Ray, The Incredible Hulk, The Bone Collector, The Quiet American). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 27 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Season 2 of The Undeclared War is written by Colin Teevan and stars Simon Pegg, Siân Brooke, Hannah Khalique-Brown, Alex Jennings, Ed Stoppard, Danny Sapani and Chloe Pirrie. The 6-part thriller directed by Paul McGuigan is set immediately after the end of Season 1 as the team in the Malware Department at GCHQ come to terms with a massive Russian cyber-attack and realize that Russia were not the real architects of the attack.

‘Debbie Wiseman – Music for Film and Television’ & Expanded ‘Craig Armstrong – Music for Film’ Albums Announced
Film Fest Gent has announced three new albums to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the World Soundtrack Awards. Debbie Wiseman – Music for Film features all-new studio recordings of selected suites and pieces from the 2025 World Soundtrack Awards guest of honor’s film and television scores, performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by Film Fest Gent music director Dirk Brossé. Among the titles featured on the album are Wilde, Father Brown, Wolf Hall, a a suite from Lewis Gilbert’s Haunted, several pieces from Jean-Paul Salomé’s Arsène Lupin and first-time re-recordings from her scores for Edie and To Olivia. Also included are two previously unreleased pieces: Accession 2023 written for BBC’s coverage of The Coronation of TM The King and Queen Camilla and a suite from Andrew Davies’ television adaptation of He Knew He Was Right, as well as Wiseman’s piano solo performance of Viv and Maurice from Brian Gilbert’s Tom & Viv.

Craig Armstrong’s ‘Love Actually – The Love Themes for Orchestra’ Album Announced
CMA Records has announced Love Actually – The Love Themes for Orchestra, a new album featuring 15 tracks from the score for Richard Curtis’ 2003 romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy and Rowan Atkinson. Grammy Award winner Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, Romeo + Juliet, The Incredible Hulk, Ray, Far from the Madding Crowd) has revisited his score to compose fuller versions of his score cues, which have been newly reworked, adapted and extended by the composer and recorded with the Budapest Art Orchestra, conducted by Peter Pejtsik. The album will be released digitally and on a limited edition CD on November 24 (coinciding with the movie’s 20th anniversary).

Milan Records/Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the British/French drama The Great Escaper. The album features the film’s original music composed by Grammy Award winner Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, Love Actually, Romeo + Juliet, The Great Gatsby, The Incredible Hulk, Ray) The soundtrack is expected to be released digitally next Friday, October 6 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services (including Amazon). A CD version is also being released overseas and is available for pre-order as an import on Amazon. The Great Escaper is directed by Oliver Parker, written by William Ivory and stars Michael Caine, Glenda Jackson and John Standing. The movie is based on true events and tells the story of octogenarian Bernard Jordan who made global headlines in 2014 when he staged a “great escape” from his care home to join fellow war veterans on a beach in Normandy, commemorating their fallen comrades at the D-Day.
