The full details of the soundtrack album for the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds musical episode Subspace Rhapsody have been revealed. The album features the original songs from the ninth episode of the show’s second season written by Tom Polce and Kay Hanley (of the rock band Letters to Cleo) and performed by cast members including Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Paul Wesley, Melissa Navia, Dan Jeannotte, Babs Olusanmokun, Melanie Scrofano and Carol Kane. Also included a special version of Jeff Russo’s main title theme. ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Musical Episode ‘Subspace Rhapsody’ to Feature Original Songs by Kay Hanley & Tom Polce
Paramount+ announced today (as part of the Star Trek Comic-Con presentation) that Kay Hanley and Tom Polce (of the rock band Letters to Cleo) have written ten original songs for an upcoming musical episode of the streamer’s original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The episode, entitled Subspace Rhapsody, will premiere as part of the show’s second season on August 9, 2023, and is also set to feature a special version of the series’ main title.

The full details of the first soundtrack album for the Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds have been revealed. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by Nami Melumad (Thor: Love and Thunder, Star Trek: Prodigy, An American Pickle,The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, Absentia). Also included are the main title and end credit themes written by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Fargo, Legion). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, April 28 by Lakeshore Records (click here to stream/download). Jeff Russo’s ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Theme Revealed
Paramount+ has released the opening titles sequence for the streamer’s original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, The Umbrella Academy, The Man Who Fell to Earth) who previously wrote the themes and scores for Star Trek: Discovery and Picard has composed the main title theme, which features elements of Alexander Courage’s theme from the original Star Trek series. Nami Melumad (An American Pickle, Absentia, The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond) is the score composer of the upcoming Paramount+ original score Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. She has been recording her score for the show’s first season over the last couple of months in Los Angeles. Jeff Russo (Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Fargo, Legion) has composed the main and end titles music. The Discovery spin-off is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise and stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock.
