The show is created by Rebecca Addelman and stars Kate Beckinsale, Jules Latimer, Geoff Stults, Laurie Davidson, Andre Hyland, Tiya Sircar and Alanna Ubach. The comedy revolves around a discredited journalist desperate to salvage her career by latching on to the story of a young mother who has been sentenced to life in prison for maiming and murdering her husband.

Soundtrack Album for Showtime’s ‘The L Word: Generation Q’ to Be Released
Milan Records will release the first soundtrack album for the Showtime original series The L Word: Generation Q. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed by Heather McIntosh (Compliance, Z for Zachariah, The Art of Self-Defense, The Quarry, 6 Balloons) & Allyson Newman (Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound, Kusama: Infinity, This Thing with Sarah). Also included are tracks by Mr. Sister and Elegance String Quartet. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 27 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. The L Word: Generation Q is created by Ilene Chaiken, Kathy Greenberg & Michele Abbott, developed by showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan and stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig, Leisha Hailey, Arienne Mandi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Jordan Hull and Sepideh Moafi.

Opening in the U.S. in select drive-in theaters and on VOD today is the western True History of the Kelly Gang directed by Justin Kurzel and starring George MacKay, Essie Davis, Nicholas Hoult, Charlie Hunnam, Russell Crowe, Thomasin McKenzie, Sean Keenan, Orlando Schwerdt, Earl Cave, Marlon Williams and Louis Hewison. The film’s original music is composed by Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant, Macbeth, The Babadook, The Mustang, The Snowtown Murders). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the movie opened in Australia. ‘The Quarry’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller The Quarry. The album features the film’s original score composed by Heather McIntosh (Compliance, Z for Zachariah, The Art of Self-Defense, Faults, 6 Balloons). Also included is the original song The Man written and performed by Academy Award winner Ryan Bingham. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, April 24 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Quarry is co-written and directed by Scott Teems and stars Shea Whigham, Michael Shannon, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Bobby Soto and Bruno Bichir. The movie is based on the novel by Damon Galgut and revolves around a drifter who kills a traveling preacher and takes his place at a small-town church, but the police chief suspects foul play.

Also opening on VOD today is the comedy Bad Therapy directed by Bill Teitler and starring Alicia Silverstone, Rob Corddry, Michaela Watkins, Haley Joel Osment, Aisha Tyler, Sarah Shahi and David Paymer. Nathan Larson (Boys Don’t Cry, Dirty Pretty Things, Margin Call, Juliet, Naked) has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been announced. The move, which follows a couple who see a marriage counselor to improve their relationship, which brings their marriage to the breaking point, is being distributed by Gravitas Ventures.

Heather McIntosh Scoring Craig Zobel’s ‘The Hunt’
Composer Heather McIntosh is reuniting with director Craig Zobel on the upcoming political thriller The Hunt. The film’s cast includes Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, Glenn Howerton, Ike Barinholtz, Betty Gilpin and Amy Madigan. No plot details have been announced yet for the movie, which will explore escalating aggressiveness between the political right and left in America. Damon Lindelof (Lost, Prometheus, The Leftovers) and Nick Cuse wrote the screenplay. Lindelof is also producing the project with Jason Blum (Get Out, Paranormal Activity, Insidious) for Blumhouse.
Heather McIntosh Scoring Martha Stephens’ ‘To the Stars’
Heather McIntosh (Compliance, Z for Zachariah, One Dollar, 6 Balloons) is scoring the upcoming drama To the Stars. The film is directed by Martha Stephens (Land Ho!) and stars Kara Hayward, Liana Liberato, Jordana Spiro, Shea Whigham, Malin Akerman and Tony Hale. The movie centers on a withdrawn farmer’s daughter who forges an intimate friendship with a worldly but reckless new girl in 1960s Oklahoma. Shannon Bradley-Colleary wrote the screenplay. Kristin Mann (Poor Boy), Laura D. Smith (I’ll See You in My Dreams) and Erik Rommesmo (It Follows, The Hero) are producing the project.
