Composer Heather McIntosh is reuniting with director Craig Zobel on the upcoming political thriller The Hunt. The film’s cast includes Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, Glenn Howerton, Ike Barinholtz, Betty Gilpin and Amy Madigan. No plot details have been announced yet for the movie, which will explore escalating aggressiveness between the political right and left in America. Damon Lindelof (LostPrometheus, The Leftovers) and Nick Cuse wrote the screenplay. Lindelof is also producing the project with Jason Blum (Get Out, Paranormal Activity, Insidious) for Blumhouse. McIntosh has previously scored Zobel’s previous two features, Compliance and Z for Zachariah, as well as his CBS All Access series One DollarThe Hunt is set to be released on September 27, 2019 by Universal Pictures.

McIntosh’s other recent projects include Riley Stearns’ The Art of Self-Defense, which premiered at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and will be released in select theaters this Friday, July 12 by Bleecker Street, as well as the indie drama To the Stars, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is currently awaiting a release date.
