Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the western True History of the Kelly Gang. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant, Macbeth, The Babadook, Assassin’s Creed, The Mustang, The Snowtown Murders). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 10 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. True History of the Kelly Gang is directed by Justin Kurzel and stars George MacKay, Essie Davis, Nicholas Hoult, Charlie Hunnam, Russell Crowe, Orlando Schwerdt, Thomasin McKenzie, Sean Keenan, Earl Cave, Marlon Williams and Louis Hewison. The movie is based on Peter Carey’s Booker Prize–winning novel and tells the story of the life and crimes of infamous 19th-century Australian outlaw Ned Kelly. The western premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and is being released in Australia next week. IFC Films has picked up domestic distribution rights for a release in the U.S. later this year.
