Niall Byrne (In Darkness, Hatton Garden, The Murders at White House Farm, Manhunt) is the composer of the upcoming BBC drama The Reckoning. The show is written by Neil McKay (Dream Horse, Four Lives) and stars Steve Coogan, Gemma Jones, Siobhan Finneran, Mark Lewis Jones and Mark Stanley. The 4-part series traces the life of Jimmy Savile, a man who became one of the UK’s most influential celebrities, but in death has become one of the most reviled figures of modern history following revelations of extensive abuse.

The only movie opening nationwide this week is Solo: A Star Wars Story directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Paul Bettany. The film’s original score is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity) and John Williams (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark) contributed the Han Solo theme. ‘In Darkness’ Soundtrack Details
Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the thriller In Darkness. The album features the film’s original music composed by Niall Byrne (Cairo Time, Parked, Hatton Garden). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 25 and will be available to download on Amazon. In Darkness is directed by Anthony Byrne and stars Natalie Dormer (who also co-wrote the screenplay), Ed Skrein, Emily Ratajkowski, Neil Maskell, Jan Bijvoet, James Cosmo and Joely Richardson. The movie follows a blind pianist who gets pulled into London’s dark underbelly after she overhears a struggle in the apartment above hers that leads to the death of her neighbor.

Niall Byrne has recently composed the music for the upcoming ITV mini-series Hatton Garden. The drama is written by Jeff Pope (Philomena, Stan and Ollie) & Terry Winsor (Essex Boys) and stars Timothy Spall, Kenneth Cranham, Brian F. O’Byrne, David Hayman, Alex Norton, Ian Puleston-Davies, Geoff Bell and Nasser Memarzia. The 4-parter tells the inside story of how an elderly gang of career criminals pulled off the audacious 2015 burglary in London’s diamond district.

Home Fires based on the book Jambusters by Julie Summers is set during World War II and follows a group of inspirational women in a rural Cheshire community.
