Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Ant-Man directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Judy Greer, Tip “TI” Harris, Wood Harris, Jordi Mollà and Michael Douglas. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Elektra, Edge of Tomorrow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and other music from the Marvel Studios production. Also opening wide is the romantic comedy Trainwreck directed by Judd Apatow and written by Amy Schumer who also stars in the movie alongside Bill Hader, LeBron James, Brie Larson, Tilda Swinton, John Cena and Ezra Miller. Jon Brion (Magnolia, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Punch Drunk Love, The Other Guys) who previously scored Apatow’s This Is 40 has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. Trainwreck follows a commitment-averse woman who is trying to get past her self-sabotaging ways. ‘Ant-Man’ Soundtrack Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Muppets, The Hangover, Bring It On). Also included are four tracks by Camilo Azuquita, Commodores, HLM and Roy Ayers. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 17, 2015 and physically on August 7. Christophe Beck’s ‘Ant-Man’ Score Preview

Marvel and composer Christophe Beck have released the composer’s main title theme for the studios’ latest superhero movie Ant-Man. Check out the full track after the jump. 3rd Annual Superhero Music Panel at Comic-Con Announced

The line-up of the 3rd Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero panel has been announced. Six leading Hollywood film and TV composers will offer a behind the scenes look at the music of today’s biggest superhero film and TV projects with unreleased film clips and never heard before music and discuss collaborating with the directors and the challenges involved in telling a story with music. Participating composers include Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg who recently scored the action hit Mad Max: Fury Road and has Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice coming up, Brian Tyler whose superhero film credits include Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3, as well as Marco Beltrami who recently composed the music for the new Fantastic Four film adaptation and previously scored The Wolverine and Hellboy.

Opening in most theaters is the action movie Mad Max: Fury Road directed by George Miller and starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee and Courtney Eaton. Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) has composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week. Also opening wide is the musical comedy sequel Pitch Perfect 2 directed by Elizabeth Banks and starring Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Rebel Wilson, Alexis Knapp, Adam DeVine and Hailee Steinfeld. The film’s original score is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (The Lego Movie, Hotel Transylvania, 21 Jump Street). Universal Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film, including the original track Flashlight written by Jessie J, as well as a track from Mothersbaugh’s score this past Tuesday. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend;

Opening in most theaters is the action comedy Hot Pursuit directed by Anne Fletcher and starring Reese Witherspoon, Sofia Vergara and Michael Mosley. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover) who previously collaborated with Fletcher on her last feature The Guilt Trip. No soundtrack album has been announced, but Sony Music has released the original song Two of a Crime by Miranda Lambert from the film. Visit Amazon to download the track. Also opening wide is the comedy The D Train written and directed by Andrew Mogel & Jarrad Paul and starring Jack Black, James Marsden, Kathryn Hahn, Kyle Bornheimer and Adria Tennor. Roc Nation Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Coffee, Kiesza, Charli XCX and Jacob Plant. Relativity Music Group will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music within the next month. Also opening wide is the comedy Get Hard directed by Etan Cohen and starring Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Alison Brie and Craig T. Nelson. Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover, The Muppets) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced, but three tracks from the composer’s score can be checked out on Beck’s official website. Get Hard follows a rich, soft-handed investment bank manager who is sentenced to a maximum security prison and hires the streetwise guy to teach him how to survive his upcoming prison sentence. Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is Disney’s live-action adaptation of Cinderella directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgard, Holliday Grainger, Sophie McShera, Derek Jacobi and Helena Bonham-Carter. The film’s original music is composed by Patrick Doyle (Sense and Sensibility, Thor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well the film’s songs including the original end titles track Strong written by Doyle, Branagh & Tommy Danvers and performed by Sonna Rele. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover, Edge of Tomorrow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) who previously scored the first part in the series. No soundtrack album has been announced. Hot Tub Time Machine 2 follows Lou, Nick and Jacob who inadvertently land in the future with Adam Jr. and have to alter the future in order to save the past. Christophe Beck Scoring ‘Hot Pursuit’

Christophe Beck is scoring the upcoming action comedy Hot Pursuit. The film is directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, 27 Dresses) and stars Reese Witherspoon, Sofia Vergara and Michael Mosley. The movie follows apolice officer trying to protect a drug boss’s widow as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and gunmen. David Feeney (New Girl, 2 Broke Girls) and John Quaintance (Material Girls, Aquamarine) have written the screenplay. Dana Fox (What Happens in Vegas, Couples Retreat) is producing the Metro-Goldwayn-Mayer (MGM) production with Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea (Wild, Warm Bodies) for their Pacific Standard production company.
