Christophe Beck is currently recording the score for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming short Frozen Fever. The film is directed by Jennifer Lee (Wreck-It-Ralph) & Chris Buck (Tarzan) who previously collaborated with Beck on 2013’s hit feature. The movie features the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad and takes place on Anna’s birthday, for which Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever. Peter Del Vecho (Frozen, The Princess and the Frog) is producing the short. As previously reported, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez have written a new original song for the project.

‘Good Kill’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama Good Kill. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Hangover). The soundtrack will be released on May 12, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Good Kill is written and directed by Andrew Niccol (Lord of War, Gattaca, In Time) and stars Ethan Hawke, January Jones, Jake Abel, Zoe Kravitz and Bruce Greenwood. The drama follows a troubled Air Force officer who is charged with directing drone strikes and enters a moral minefield as the rationale for targeting purported terrorists becomes ever more murky.
Weekly Film Music Roundup (January 23, 2015)
Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Strange Magic directed by Gary Rydstrom, produced by George Lucas and featuring the voices of Alan Cumming, Evan Rachel Wood, Kristin Chenoweth, Maya Rudolph, Sam Palladio, Meredith Anne Bull, Alfred Molina, Elijah Kelley, Bob Einstein and Peter Stormare. Marius de Vries (Moulin Rouge, Kick-Ass) serves as the film’s musical director and has also composed the original score. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film performed by the voice cast. Also opening wide is the thriller The Boy Next Door directed by Rob Cohen, produced by Jason Blum and starring Jennifer Lopez, Ryan Guzman, John Corbett and Kristin Chenoweth. The film’s original music is composed by Randy Edelman who previously scored such films as Dragonheart, xXx and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor for Cohen and Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans). Christophe Beck to Score ‘Sisters’
Christophe Beck is reteaming with director Jason Moore to score the upcoming comedy Sisters. The film stars Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ike Barinholtz, John Leguizamo, Dianne Wiest, John Cena and James Brolin. The movie follows two disconnected sisters who are summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the house and throw one final party in order to recapture their glory days. Paula Pell (30 Rock, Saturday Night Live) has written the screenplay. Fey is also producing the project with Roach (Austin Powers, Meet the Parents, The Campaign) and John S. Lyons (Boogie Nights, Pieces of April).
‘Red Army’ Soundtrack Released
Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Red Army. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Leo Birenberg. The soundtrack is now available digitally on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Red Army is directed by Gabe Polsky and centers on the Soviet Union and the most successful dynasty in sports history: the Red Army hockey team. Told from the perspective of its captain Slava Fetisov, the story portrays his transformation from national hero to political enemy. The movie executive produced by Jerry Weintraub & Werner Herzog premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be released in select theaters this Friday, January 23.
Christophe Beck to Score Marvel Studios’ ‘Ant-Man’
Christophe Beck has been hired to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming feature Ant-Man. The film is directed by Peyton Reed (The Break-Up, Yes Man) and stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, Judy Greer, Tip Harris, David Oastmalchian, Wood Harris, Jordi Molla and Michael Douglas. The movie follows master thief Scott Lang who must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, The Other Guys) has written the screenplay with Rudd based on on a story by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block). Kevin Feige (The Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, Guardians of the Galaxy) is producing the project.
Christophe Beck to Score ‘Terminator: Genisys’
Christophe Beck has been hired to score the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Terminator: Genisys. The film is directed by Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones) and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Matt Smith, Lee Byung-hun, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance, Sandrine Holt and J. K. Simmons. The movie is the first part of a planned trilogy. Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) & Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry, My Bloody Valentine) have written the screenplay. David Ellison & Dana Goldberg (World War Z, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, I Am Legend) are producing the Paramount Pictures and Skydance production.
‘Let’s Be Cops’ Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the action comedy Let’s Be Cops. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Moby, Santigold, Diplo (feat. Angger Dimas & Travis Porter), Scorpions and Cypress Hill & Rusko. Also included is a suite from the film’s original score composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover) and Jake Monaco. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 9, 2014. Audio clips will be added to this article soon. Let’s Be Cops is directed by Luke Green and stars Jake Johnson, Damon Wayans Jr., Nina Dobrev, Rob Riggle, James D’Arcy and Andy Garcia. The movie follows two struggling pals who dress as police officers for a costume party and get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives.

Christophe Beck is scoring the upcoming animated feature Peanuts. The film is directed by Steve Martino (Horton Hears a Who!, Ice Age: Continental Draft) is based on the comic strip by Charles M. Schulz and marks the first CGI-animated fiom based on the property and the first feature featuring the characters in 35 years. The movie follows Snoopy who embarks upon his greatest mission as he and his team take to the skies to pursue their arch-nemesis, while his best friend Charlie Brown begins his own quest back home. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) is producing the Blue Sky Studios production with Bryan & Craig Schulz, Cornelius Uliano and Michael J. Travers.
Christophe Beck Scoring ‘Get Hard’
Christophe Beck is the composer of the upcoming comedy Get Hard. The film marks the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder, Men in Black 3, Idiocracy) and stars Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart, Alison Brie, Craig T. Nelson, Gary Owen and Jay Pharoah. The movie follows a rich, soft-handed investment bank manager who is sentenced to a maximum security prison and hires the streetwise guy who normally washes his car so he can learn how to survive his upcoming prison sentence. Jay Martel & Ian Roberts (Key and Peele) have written the screenplay with Cohen. Will Ferrell & Adam McKay (Anchorman, The Other Guys, Talladega Nights) and Chris Henchy are producing the project for their Gary Sanchez Productions company.
