Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy Life of the Party directed by Ben Falcone and starring Melissa McCarthy, Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Molly Gordon, Stephen Root and Jacki Weaver. The film’s original score is composed by Fil Eisler (Empire, Revenge, How to Be Single, CHiPs). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as songs by Meghan Trainor, Blind Scuba Divers, Chick Norris, Cyndi Lauper & more. Also opening wide is the thriller Breaking In directed by James McTeigue and starring Gabrielle Union, Billy Burke, Richard Cabral, Seth Karr, Ajiona Alexus, Levi Meaden, Jason George and Christa Miller. Johnny Klimek (Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run, One Hour Photo, Sense8, The International) has composed the film’s original score. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the music by Klimek and additional music composer Gabriel Mounsey and a song by James Earl Jones II. Premiering on Wednesday, January 29, on BBC America is the biographical mini-series Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond directed by Mat Whitecross and starring Dominic Cooper in the title role as Ian Fleming, as well as Laura Pulver, Lesley Manville, Rupert Evans, Anna Chancellor, Samuel West, Annabelle Wallis and Camilla Rutherford. Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, 47 Ronin, The Young Victoria) and Tim Wheeler who previously scored Whitecross’ Ashes and Spike Island have composed the series’ original score. No word on a soundtrack album. Ilan Eshkeri and Tim Wheeler have composed the score for the biographical mini-series Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond. The series is directed by Mat Whitecross (Road to Guantanamo) and stars Dominic Cooper as Ian Fleming, alongside Laura Pulver, Lesley Manville, Rupert Evans, Annabelle Wallis, Anna Chancellor, Samuel West and Camilla Rutherford. The four-parter follows the author’s time with the British Naval Intelligence, which inspired him to invent super-spy James Bond. John Brownlow (Sylvia) and Don MacPherson (Entrapment) have written the script.
