Deadline is reporting that MGM is producing the feature documentary The Sound of 007 about the history of six decades of James Bond music. The film directed by Mat Whitecross (The Road to Guantanamo, Spike Island, Ashes) will go behind the lens into the Bond franchise from the genesis of Dr No and the iconic 007 theme song all the way to No Time To Die, mixing interviews with James Bond archive material. John Battsek (One Day in September, The Rescue, Studio 54) is producing the project.

Ilan Eshkeri & Tim Wheeler Scoring ‘Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond
Ilan Eshkeri and Tim Wheeler have composed the score for the biographical mini-series Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond. The series is directed by Mat Whitecross (Road to Guantanamo) and stars Dominic Cooper as Ian Fleming, alongside Laura Pulver, Lesley Manville, Rupert Evans, Annabelle Wallis, Anna Chancellor, Samuel West and Camilla Rutherford. The four-parter follows the author’s time with the British Naval Intelligence, which inspired him to invent super-spy James Bond. John Brownlow (Sylvia) and Don MacPherson (Entrapment) have written the script.
Ilan Eshkeri Scoring ‘Ashes’
Ilan Eshkeri is scoring the upcoming thriller Ashes. The movie stars Jim Sturgess, Ray Winstone, Lesley Manville (Another Year), Luke Evans (Robin Hood) and Jodie Whittaker (Attack the Block). The film is directed by Mat Whitecross (The Road to Guantanamo) who also co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Viragh (Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll). Esther Douglas and Fiona Neilson are producing. Coldplay’s Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion and Chris Martin are executive producers on the project. No plot details have been revealed yet, but the movie has been described as a contemporary film noir.
