Nonesuch Records will release a soundtrack album for the PBS documentary Leonardo di Vinci. The album features the original score from the 2-part film written by Pulitzer Prize- & Grammy Award-winning composer Caroline Shaw (Fleishman Is in Trouble, The Sky Is Everywhere, Madeline Madeline) and performed by Attacca Quartet, Sō Percussion and Roomful of Teeth. Leonardo di Vinci is directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns & David McMahon, narrated by Keith David and explores the life and work of the titular 15th century polymath (voiced by Italian actor Adriano Giannini) and his achievements, which are brought to life through his personal notebooks, primary and secondary accounts of his life, and interviews with modern scholars, artists, engineers, inventors, and admirers.

‘One with the Whale’ Soundtrack Album Released
Air-Edel Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary One with the Whale. The album features the film’s original music composed by Eloi Ragot (Wild Heart, The Break, Unseen, The Red Orchestra). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s first track (Redemption) after the jump. One with the Whale is directed by Jim Wickens & Pete Chelkowski and explores why hunting whales is a matter of life or death for the residents of an Alaskan village. The movie follows a shy Alaska Native teen who becomes the youngest person ever to harpoon a whale for his village and has to deal with thousands of keyboard activists brutally attacking him online.
‘A Town Called Victoria’ Soundtrack Albums Released
Over the last few weeks, Eastern Glow Recordings has released three soundtrack album for the PBS original documentary series A Town Called Victoria. The albums features the show’s original music composed by The Album Leaf (aka Jimmy LaValle) (Synchronic, The Endless, Something in the Dirt, Spring, The F**k-It List, 3022). The Episode 1, Episode 2 and Episode 3 soundtracks are now available to stream/download on all major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track after the jump. A Town Called Victoria is directed by Li Liu and chronicles the titular town, its activists and politicians as they must overcome its age-old political, racial, and economic divides to find a collective way forward when the local mosque is burned to the ground in an apparent hate crime.

The show’s original music is composed by Samuel Sim (The Spanish Princess, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Bay, The Halcyon, Anne, The Long Call, Home Fires). Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British limited series Mr Bates vs the Post Office written by Gwyneth Hughes, directed by James Strong and starring Toby Jones, Monica Dolan, Alex Jennings, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Ian Hart, Will Mellor, Lia Williams, Shaun Dooley, Clare Calbraith, Lesley Nicol, Amit Shah, Adam James and Katherine Kelly. The show’s original music is composed by Vince Pope (True Detective: Night Country, No Offence, Black Mirror: Be Right Back, Resistance, You & Me, Misfits, Wolfe). The 4-parter, which tells the story of the real-life British Post Office scandal that has set off a firestorm of public outrage forcing the Prime Minister to act, premiered in the UK earlier this year on ITV and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.
Premiering on Thursday, April 11 is the Prime Video original series Fallout developed by Geneva Robertson-Dworet & Graham Wagner based on the video game series and starring Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, Moisés Arias, Michael Emerson, Kyle MacLachlan, Frances Turner, Leslie Uggams, Johnny Pemberton and Sarita Choudhury. Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Westworld, Uncharted, House of the Dragon, Eternals) has composed the show’s original music. Debbie Wiseman Scoring BBC’s & PBS’ ‘Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light’
Debbie Wiseman (Wilde, Adventures of Arsene Lupin, Vampire Killers, Dickensian, Haunted, Flood) is returning to score the upcoming BBC/PBS drama Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light. The show is directed by Peter Kosminsky, adapted for television by Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Frank) and stars Mark Rylance, Damian Lewis, Kate Phillips, Jonathan Pryce, Lilit Lesser, Harriet Walter, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Harry Melling, Timothy Spall, Alex Jennings and Charlie Rowe. The 6-part series is based on the final novel in Hilary Mantel’s trilogy and traces the final four years of Thomas Cromwell’s life, completing his journey from self-made man to the most feared, influential figure of his time.

The 2-part, four hour film is directed by Ken Burns (Brooklyn Bridge, The Statue of Liberty, The Vietnam War), Sarah Burns (Muhammad Ali) & David McMahon (The Central Park Five) and explores the life and work of the titular 15th century polymath. Shaw’s score is performed by Attacca Quartet, Sō Percussion and Roomful of Teeth. Italian actor Adriano Giannini is voicing Leonardo and Keith David serves as the narrator of the movie, which brings da Vinci’s achievements to life through his personal notebooks, primary and secondary accounts of his life, and on-camera interviews with modern scholars, engineers, artists, inventors, and admirers.
‘Wild Scandinavia’ Soundtrack Album Released
Octiive has released a soundtrack album for the BBC wildlife documentary series Wild Scandinavia. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by BΩç(Nova, Beeba Boys, Thin Ice).
