Dubois Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC drama Miss Austen. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award nominee Dominik Scherrer (The Missing, The Tourist, Primeval, The Widow, Baptiste, Ripper Street, The Serpent, Requiem, The Confessions of Frannie Langton). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 19 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon or any other major digital music services. Ken Burns’ ‘The American Revolution’ to Feature Music by Johnny Gandelsman, Rhiannon Giddens, David Cieri & Others
PBS announced this week that Johnny Gandelsman, Rhiannon Giddens, Jennifer Kreisberg, David Cieri, Yo-Yo Ma and Richard Evans are contributing music to the upcoming documentary series The American Revolution. The show directed and produced by Ken Burns (Brooklyn Bridge, The Vietnam War, The Statue of Liberty), Sarah Botstein (The U.S. and the Holocaust) & David Schmidt, written by long-time collaborator Geoffrey C. Ward and examines how America’s creation turned the world upside-down. The 6-parter is narrated by Peter Coyote and includes the first-person voices of nearly 200 individual historic figures, read by a cast of actors, including Kenneth Branagh, Josh Brolin, Hugh Dancy, Claire Danes, Jeff Daniels, Alden Ehrenreich, Craig Ferguson, Morgan Freeman, Paul Giamatti, Domhnall Gleeson, Tom Hanks, Ethan Hawke, Maya Hawke, Lucas Hedges, Josh Hutcherson, Samuel L. ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ Seasons 4 & 5 Soundtrack Album Released
All3Media has released a new soundtrack album for the Channel 5/PBS Masterpiece series All Creatures Great and Small. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s fourth and fifth seasons composed by Alexandra Harwood (The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Growing Up Wild, The Escape). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s main theme and first score track (Duck Race) below. The show’s original music is composed by Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western Front, Lion, Conclave, Hotel Mumbai, The Old Guard, Adrift). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the first episodes this past Friday. ‘Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light’ Soundtrack Album Details
Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the BBC/PBS Masterpiece series Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed and conducted by Debbie Wiseman (Wilde, Dickensian, Adventures of Arsene Lupin, Vampire Killers, Father Brown, Haunted, Flood) and performed by The Locrian Ensemble of London. The label has previously released an album featuring Wiseman’s score from the original 2015 Wolf Hall series. Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light is adapted for television by Peter Straughan and stars Mark Rylance, Damian Lewis, Jonathan Pryce, Kate Phillips, Harriet Walter, Lilit Lesser, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Timothy Spall, Harry Melling, Alex Jennings and Charlie Rowe. The 6-parter directed by Peter Kosminsky is based on the final novel in Hilary Mantel’s trilogy and tells the continuing story, post the execution of Anne Boleyn, of Thomas Cromwell and his complex relationship with Henry VIII.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British TV series The Marlow Murder Club created by Robert Thorogood based on his own novel and starring Samantha Bond, Jo Martin, Cara Horgan, Natalie Dew, Phillipa Pea and Mark Frost. The show’s original music is composed by Cora Miron. The drama, which follows a retired archaeologist who tries to solve the crime when murder strikes the quiet riverside town of Marlow and begins to uncover a series of puzzling clues and comes to rely on the help of other local women to investigate, premiered earlier this year in the UK on U & Drama and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.
Premiering on Wednesday, October 30, is the Netflix original film Time Cut directed by Hannah Macpherson and starring Madison Bailey, Antonia Gentry, Griffin Gluck, Michael Shanks, Rachael Crawford, Samuel Braun, Megan Best, Jordan Pettle, Kataem O’Connor and Sydney Sabiston. The sequel to 2022’s Magpie Murders (scored by Gold) is written by Anthony Horowitz (Alex Rider, New Blood) based on his own bestselling novel of the same title and stars Lesley Manville & Timothy McMullan who reprise their roles of Susan Ryeland & Atticus Pünd from the original series, as well as Mark Gatiss, Rosalie Craig, Daniel Mays, Claire Rushbrook, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Conleth Hill, Matthew Beard, Adrian Rawlins and Sanjeev Kohli.
